2XKOThe latest title from League of Legends Developer Riot Games is reportedly experiencing constant screen tearing on consoles. The issue has already sparked widespread online complaints and even a Band-Aid fix, with plenty of buzz. 2XKO Players are saying they will quit the game until it is fixed.
Screen tearing is a common visual error in video games, which results in visible horizontal splitting of the screen due to the display showing parts of multiple frames at once. In players, the top and bottom parts of the image can sometimes appear to be misaligned, with tears especially likely to appear during fast camera movements. Basically, the problem occurs when a new frame is presented while the display is in the middle of scanning the previous one, so that the screen contains parts of several frames at once. This is especially common when the game's frame rate doesn't align neatly with the display's refresh cycle (often when running faster than the refresh rate with V-Sync disabled), but it can happen at any frame rate if a scan between frames is presented. Games often generate frames at inconsistent rates, increasing the likelihood of synchronization issues that cause screen tearing.
All 2XKO Characters (and How to Unlock Them)
Here's how to unlock all fighters in Riot Games' 2XKO, with a quick look at each champion's attack and playstyle.
2XKO has serious screen tearing issues
Riot's free-to-play tag-team fighting game seems to be the latest example of the split-screen trend. After some time 2XKO Released on January 20, players began reporting constant horizontal tearing, especially on displays with high refresh rates. Several community threads suggest that this issue is more prevalent with 120Hz screens, but it's not exclusive to them.
2XKO screen tearing reports can be reduced on Xbox, with some limitations
According to a recent report by Reddit user Neoak, it is possible to mitigate the screen tearing issue in the current console version. 2XKOOnly when playing on Xbox though, while PS5 owners are out of luck. Users claim that enabling the console's system-level 120Hz output and variable refresh rate (VRR) support through Display Settings can significantly reduce visual tearing. This approach requires a VRR-compatible monitor or display. It works by leveraging the Xbox's handling of high-refresh-rate output at the system level, even in games that don't explicitly advertise 120Hz compatibility, thereby shortening frame display times and masking synchronization issues that often cause screen tearing in the first place.
However, Neoak's method is not a guaranteed fix. It depends on compatible hardware, may involve performance bandwidth trade-offs, and does not necessarily eliminate tearing altogether. In addition, since 2XKO Reportedly launching without vertical synchronization (V-Sync) to reduce input latency, the underlying issue remains at the software level. A proper fix will probably require an official patch from Riot, which is what players are hoping for when it arrives 2XKO Season 1 is still fresh, as many are now holding off on playing the game until its screen tearing issues are fully addressed.
Riot has yet to officially acknowledge the 2XKO screen tearing
Riot Games has not yet officially accepted it 2XKO Reports of curtain tearing in any capacity. developer did Take Ranked Mode offline over the weekend of January 24-25, citing work to be done to address several “game-impacting bugs”. Whether any of them will crack the screen remains to be seen. While emergency lobbies were supposed to remain open during the maintenance period, social media reports from players suggest this has not been the case, at least not consistently. This has hampered progress 2XKOThe ongoing Caitlyn Champion Recruitment Event, though players can still earn XP by completing the game's tutorial missions.
