after Dispatch Episode 3 lets players choose to cut Sonar or Coop from the Z-Team, Episode 4 follows up by offering players a choice between two possible replacements: Waterboy or Phenomaman. After Phenomaman's breakup with Blonde Blazer, the hero who would once have been a clear-cut perfect choice comes with enough emotional baggage that players may want to consider the well-meaning but bumbling Waterboy. Although this waterbuoy may not seem like a good choice at first sight, Dispatch Players won't want to miss the opportunity to add an incredibly useful member to the Z-Team by taking Phenomaman to Waterboy.

In terms of sheer numbers, Phenomaman starts out as a more capable hero than Waterboy, with significant points in combat, vigor and mobility that make him perfect for calls that require these specific crime-fighting traits. However, looks can be deceiving, as the Phenomenaman's breakup with the blonde blazer has left him with a huge deficit.

  • Easily depressed: Phenomaman only needs 2 seconds of rest, but if a call fails or is missed, he becomes depressed and needs 45 seconds of rest.

Players risk losing the Phenoman for 45 seconds every time he fails or misses a call, which can be crippling when the Z-Team needs all the members it can get to perform optimally. While Waterboy's stats won't compete with Phenomaman early on, he's a good long-term investment since players won't have to worry about potentially long downtime.

Phenomaman can lose the desperate status through the Heavily Medicated skill, which can be earned through special hero training.

Why Waterboy Dispatch is a good choice for players

Dispatch-waterboy-character

Not only can players avoid having to deal with the frustrating Phenomenaman by picking Waterboy, but they can potentially fill any gaps in their team with him. Waterboy's stats may be low when he first joins the Z-Team, but that essentially makes him a blank slate that the player can mold to fit the needs of the Z-Team. If players lack a hero with high intelligence after the loss of Sonar, they can instead focus on investing in Waterboy's Intellect stat. Similarly, if players choose to cut coupe Dispatch Episode 3 and need a hero with good mobility, Waterboy could be the perfect replacement with little investment.

In contrast, Phenomaman is already at max level and cannot gain XP, meaning players are stuck with their stats. While it adds a solid hero right off the bat when Phenomaman joins Dispatch Episode 4, he can be a liability if he ever fails a mission or if the players are already running too many combat and passion-focused team members. In almost every scenario, Waterboy is the better choice of the two, but the community is still divided when it comes to their actual in-game choices.
