The God Valley flashback is over, and with it, a piece Fans finally know how the events played out years after they were first mentioned. These recent flashback chapters have been a huge change of pace, giving fans time to sink in the current events in Elbaf as well as a much-needed look at what could be the most important event for one of the series' most iconic characters. a piece history
A lot happened before and during the God Valley event, some things more notable than others. Oda certainly isn't done cooking, and with what's currently going on in Elbaf set to resume, here's a look at some of the big things he revealed about God's Valley.
Shakki's kidnapping set off the chaos
We knew that God Valley had Garp and Roger team up with the legendary Rocks D. Jabek was seen to play with, but the details weren't made clear until the flashback. While we learn more about the Rox and Roger pirates, the flashbacks also give a look at the old Kuja pirates, specifically highlighting Shakki's popularity. Shakki is so popular that she is kidnapped by Ochoku and offered as the grand prize in a world government native hunting competition.
This draws the Roger pirates to the island, as well as the Rox pirates, at least to the surface. Although St. Somers eventually tried to kill him when the pirates began attacking the island, he was saved by Raleigh, who crossed to the island with the help of the rest of the Roger pirates.
Monkey D. Role of Dragon
If there is a character a piece Over the series' long run it's a dragon fans feel is underutilized. The son of Garp and Luffy's father, Dragon is a character fans want to see more of, even though he's been doing a lot behind the scenes. A flashback to Dev Valley showed us that the dragon was present during the incident and was also part of the Marines while the horrors of the Native Hunting Tournament took place.
As you might expect, the dragon was horrified by the actions of the World Nobles and the World Government, leading him to disobey orders and go rogue. We saw the dragon save Kuma from being shot. He also meets and tries to save Shanks and his twin brother, Shamrock, though he loses both during the strike. Thankfully, Dragon managed to save some of the survivors from the incident, although he was later imprisoned for his actions. Although his father freed him, it seems that the incident of God Valley and Garp's “hero” status caused a major rift in their relationship after the incident.
Davy Clan and Rocks Family
While most of the pirates crashed the original hunting tournament to either rescue Shakki or rob the island of its treasure, Rax was secretly worried about the safety of his wife, Aeris, and his son, Teach. During the event, the World Government announced that they had captured members of the legendary clan for the first time in 800 years, including Rox's wife, son, father, and grandmother. Thankfully, Eris and Teach are able to escape when Kuma intervenes.
Thanks to the emu and the world government, the clan has mostly been wiped out. But we have Davy D. in the clash between Rocks and Emu. Let's learn some interesting things about Jones. Rocks claims that his ancestors were former kings of the world and fear the promise that Emu Joy Boy and Davy Jones made all those years ago. Rax's story may be over, but new revelations about him and his family will definitely come into play during the final saga. In a classic Oda move, he gave us some answers while opening up some new questions.
End of the Rocks Pirates
The legendary pirate crew that included Rocks, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Buckingham Stussy, Kaido, and other notable pirates of their era was known as the strongest crew of all time. With many members playing prominent roles in the series' recent events, fans knew that the Rocks Pirates would not last. Now we know what happened to the most notable members of the crew.
We see Kaido steal his Devil Fruit from Big Mother, who angrily declares that he owes her a betrayal. Kaido then left to start his own team while Big Mom left with some treasure. John also decides to take out the treasure found on the island, but is blinded by Ganzui, who himself is attacked by Shiki, who also goes to take some of the treasure. Gloriosa escapes by sailing with the Roger Pirates, and Whitebeard is approached by another captain, Polo Graham, and asked to form a new crew with him.
Involvement of the emu
As Emu gradually became more involved in the main story, you had to assume that he was involved in what happened in God Valley. With the native hunting competition broken up and pirates running rampant on the island, Emu owns the planet Saturn, similar to what Gunko currently owns on Elbaf. He uses his Domi Reversi on Rox's family members before using the technique on Rox himself, forcing Roger and Garp to take him on.
At the end of it, Emu orders all records of the God Valley incident to be destroyed. It contains all known information about the inhabitants, the location of the island, and the number of casualties, making it another tragic event hidden by the emu and the world government.
Rocks d. Zebeck's fate
We all knew it was going to end this way, but that doesn't make it any easier. The end of the God Valley flashback shows us Jabek's ultimate fate, and although he was by no means a saint, it was still a sad conclusion to his story. Domi is forced to go after Reversi and his family, while Rox is confronted by Garp and Roger.
Rax begs the pair to kill him before he hurts his family, and while it takes all their strength, they finally manage to take him down. However, neither Roger nor Garp delivered the final blow. Although Garp and Roger's combined hockey seems to free Rox from his possession, he is too injured to continue and is killed while defenseless by Figureland Garling. It's a sad end for a character who won so many fans in such a short time.
