One of the late game quests The outside world 2 A 'equal arrangement' is the act of deciding who to support to help you take control of the record. While it's easy enough to side with Auntie's Choice or The Order by improving your reputation with your chosen faction, getting the two to work together is much more difficult. Not only are there strict non-negotiables for each side, but you can lock yourself into two factions before you even have a chance to start a discussion. Here's what you need to know to make Auntie's Choice and The Order work together The outside world 2.
How to get auntie's choice and order 2 to negotiate with outside world
Just because you want Aunt Cleo and Ruth to sit down and come to a mutual agreement, doesn't mean they're going to do it. For the two to work together, you must first check some other requirements:
-
Make sure the delegates aren't killed by De Vries at the Greater Tranquility Station
-
Completing faction quests to improve your reputation and earn the trust of each respective leader
The first is relatively simple, as long as you don't mind getting a bit of blood on your hands. If you are not able to convince De Vries to abandon his assassination plans, you can kill him to avoid any of the delegates from killing him.
Completing faction quests is also relatively simple, and is part and parcel of the main questline as you attempt to access archives and process Rift data. You will eventually talk to high-ranking officials from both sides who will task you with completing various tasks on their behalf. Succeed at these (they're pretty straightforward), and you'll eventually be given the chance to talk to both Aunt Cleo and Ruth Busser.
Don't take the protectorate on yourself. If you do, you can't move forward.
Convincing Aunt Cleo and Ruth to negotiate
During the conversation with each of them, you need to select the option that suggests that they should cooperate with the other. Aunt Cleo will be more than happy to set up a discussion, but Ruth needs a speech check to convince her. I used the following dialogue options in my conversation with her to convince her that this was a good idea:
-
Vicar Levin expressed his desire to resume negotiations. I think he is right.
-
I consider you a wise leader, Bishop. Wise enough to see the potential benefits here. (Speech 7)
-
I'm sure. I want aunty's choice and order to work together.
-
I will do anything to gain an audience with her.
All dialogue options to convince Auntie's choice and order to work together
After exiting the elevator in the living room, before going into the conversation room, save your game. This will ensure that if you want to see how things might have gone differently (or just want to see how choosing different dialogue options changes the conversations, you have an easy point to come back to).
Below, I've listed the exact dialogue options I've used to convince the two parties to work together. These two may not be the only reassuring options, but they should give you a clear path to helping the two and you getting the 'Corporate Support' achievement/trophy.
-
I can see why a neutral third party was needed here.
-
Let's get down to it. What does it take to be a partnership?
-
What matters most is who controls the records.
-
Ruth is right. The order created the archive. It's theirs.
-
It doesn't have to be forever. What's a small sacrifice now for a big gain later?
-
You're a corporate genius, right? I'm sure you'll find something.
-
I disagree. Nothing in life comes for free. Auntie's Choice should oversee the production.
-
Crazy idea, but maybe Order and Auntie's Choice can share technology?
-
Better than getting hit in the eye!
-
Now you are speaking. I enjoy myself some “chemical cocktails”. (Pre-conviction background required)
-
But it's Auntie's job now, Ruth. You two are working together.
-
This device you mentioned – it doesn't sound very secure.
-
What are the chances of this being successful? You must have run the numbers.
-
It's your decision, Ruth. If you're willing to pay the cost, who am I to object?
-
I'm glad you both were able to reach an agreement.
As mentioned above, it is by no means the case only Way to make Auntie and Ruth work together. However, it is not necessary to have your skills at certain levels to achieve this. Aside from the ex-convict background dialogue I chose for fun (which doesn't seem to change the conversation), it's a nice, easy way to convince the two that they have to give a little to agree.
