As expected, PlayStation is repeating what it did in 2024 and selling a limited edition Fortnite PS5 bundle that comes with exclusive cosmetic items. Even better than that, Fortnite bundles are going to be $100 cheaper if you buy a PS5 without the added Fortnite stuff at any time of the year.
PlayStation confirmed its Black Friday plans via its blog, leading with the news that the rumors about a new Fortnite bundle were indeed true. The Flowering Chaos Bundle will include eight exclusive cosmetic items, including a special skin, which can only be obtained if you purchase the console. The approximate value of the cosmetic items is 5,000 V-Bucks, and the bundle also comes with 1,000 additional V-Bucks that you like.
That's about $46 for normal people who can't convert V-Bucks to USD in their heads.
It's cheaper to buy a PS5 with Fortnite accessories than without
What's included in Fortnite bundles isn't the best part, though; How much is it going to cost? The standard bundle will be $449.99While The digital version will cost $399.99. It's $100 cheaper on both counts than buying a standard PS5 without all the exclusive items and 1,000 V-Bucks.
It looks like regular PS5s will be discounted for Black Friday as well. A leak claimed that the consoles will receive price cuts for the biggest sales event of the year earlier this month, and the same PlayStation blog post that revealed the Fortnite bundles confirmed that select PS5 models will be up to $100 cheaper in certain regions during the Black Friday weekend, including the PS5 Pro.
PlayStation has been a bit more specific when it comes to confirming price cuts on the PS5's growing range of accessories. It's still aware that the PlayStation VR2 exists, and if you've been on the fence about buying one until now, you'll be able to pick up the headset for $100 less when Black Friday sales begin later this week on November 21st.
The newly revamped PlayStation Portal will also be on sale, confirmed to be $20 off PlayStation's Black Friday sale. An update for Portal has been rolled out, which means you can now play it without relying on your PS5. Your home console can be closed or used by someone else while Portal streams your games from the cloud.
There will also be discounts on PlayStation's Pulse Explore earbuds, DualSense controllers and a wide selection of games. The sale begins on November 21st and some discounts will remain active until December 1st, 2025.
