After an impressive eight-year run, Fortnite is vaulting the Battle Bus for the first time. In its place, Epic Games is introducing Tsunami, which players must surf in completely random directions to reach the map.
It's a fresh idea to shake up the usual Fortnite loop after nearly a decade, but vaulting a core game mechanic like Bus has some players worried. Who to thank now? What about all the gliders they spent years collecting? Don't the limited drops make the early game too chaotic? And Epic does really Need to reinvent the steering wheel?
These are all valid concerns, but don't worry too much; It is not permanent. According to leaks, the 'Zero Battle Bus' mode is a limited-time event for Chapter 7, setting up The Traveler as the game's most dominant villain. It's unclear how long it will last, but dataminers like u/Loose_Track5504 claim that there is a Questline tied to the bus, so we can bring it – and the driver – back to the island.
“Before people get angry, [there] It's a leaked questline where you have to find parts of the Battle Bus that can be repaired,” they said. “So, it's not going to be a permanent thing. Maybe next season it's gone or maybe another chapter.”
A Battle Bus can become a dedicated mode like Zero Build
@Egyptian_Leaker also claimed on X that the event will only last for a short time and that there will be a quest to collect the parts, comparing it to the introduction of Zero Creation. And, as proof, they point to the fact that you can still see the Battle Bus on the new loading screen behind The Traveler.
In that case, it might only be missing for a few weeks before becoming a separate, dedicated mod.
Already, fans are gearing up for Epic Games to launch panning surfboards in the item shop.
Chapter 7 begins on Sunday, November 30, so it won't be long before we dive into the next season to discover the mystery of the Battle Bus for ourselves.
