Dhaka: Bangladesh partially restored telecommunications services on Wednesday, although internet connections were slow and social media remained suspended, days after deadly protests against reservation in government jobs left nearly 150 people dead. The country has been mostly quiet since Sunday, after the Supreme Court reduced the reservation for various categories to 7 percent, setting aside the High Court's order to restore the 56 percent quota in government jobs that was scrapped in 2018.
