Time is of the essence if you want to find the glow within Pokemon Legends: ZAAnd it's more important than ever after a new patch killed the best hunting method in the game.
If your first guess is the bench, then rest safe, as the shiny prey Pokemon Legends: ZA Benches are still possible and always good. What's no longer possible, however, is the so-called “overload method,” which allowed you to spawn multiple Pokemon from a given spawn point, spawn different Pokemon in their place, and do it multiple times to increase the number of critters in a given area. This method was the most common in Wild Zone 20, and while it's sorely missed, don't worry—there are new ways to hunt shiny.

Pokemon Legends: ZA's overloaded shiny hunting method in Wild Zone 20 is officially dead
Pokemon Legends: ZAThe 2.0 update not only adds all the new content from the Mega Dimension DLC, but it also changes the main functionalities of the game. One thing you should know as soon as possible is that the overloaded shiny hunting method is now officially gone.
You've probably used it or seen it in some shape or form in Wild Zone 20, especially since it was first discovered as a way to spawn six Alpha Pokemon in Wild Zone 20 under a tower instead of the usual two. This is terrible news for hunters who love Alpha Pokemon, as there are about 70 different species that spread under the Wild Zone 20 tower, making it possible to find as many critters as Alphas in the game.
It's worth noting that if you still have some overloaded spawn points in the game, most Alphas in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Wild Zone 20, they will remain until you catch or defeat them.
Pokemon Legends: ZA's 2.0 DLC patch changes the game forever
With the release of Pokemon Legends: ZAThe Mega Dimension DLC brought a plethora of new content for players to sink their teeth into. If you've beaten the base game, you can immediately start the Mega Dimension DLC by going to the rooftop of Hotel Z, and slowly gaining access to several areas of Hyperspace Lumios with some Pokemon already in the game and some new ones.
Inside all the returning Pokemon Pokemon Legends: ZAcan be caught in DLC expansions or acquired later as event-specific rewards, and in some cases, Mega Stones will be awarded during ranked seasons. The DLC's new Hyperspace Lumiose areas are very different from the base game, so keep this in mind:

Hyperspace Lumiose can only be accessed with Ansha's Donuts and Hoopa's powers.

The donuts you make determine your Pokemon's level cap Pokemon Legends: ZADLC, levels above 100 are possible, and DLC is also required to defeat.

Available areas on the map reset to sunrise/morning and nighttime, meaning you can use Pokemon Legends: ZABenches to reset the appearance of Hyperspace Lumiose areas.

Each area is timed based on the type of berries you use, as well as the donut's star rating (1 to 5). You can spend more than 6 minutes in each area with the right donuts.

Some hyperspace regions have a flying access point on the map, which means you can fast-travel to the entrance.

Pokémon in Hyperspace Lumiose can glow, make sparkling noises, and behave like Pokémon in the base game.

You can see the Pokémon contained in a given area before entering, giving you the option to choose where to go and which critters to hunt down.

How to Hunt Shiny in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC – Fast-Travel
The fast-travel method is pretty simple, and it's already viable in the base game. If the Hyperspace Lumiose area you're in has a fly access point on the map, fly to it to reset all Pokemon within a 50m radius of your spawn point. This is best when there are a lot of critters near the entrance to the map, meaning you can spam fast-travel and eventually find a shiny Pokemon.
Time spent loading screens while fast-traveling does not count towards the time you are in a given hyperspace region.
How to Hunt Shiny in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC – Soft Reset
This method only applies if you have more than three minutes on the clock in a given hyperspace area, as you need to find the hordes of Pokemon you want to find, defeat them, and then wait about two to three minutes for them to respawn. You should save every 10-15 seconds until the pokemon respawns, make sure not to save after they respawn or later. If the pokemon is not shiny, you can close the game and restart it, then rinse and repeat until you find shiny. Ideally, the area should allow you to be there for at least 4 minutes to get the most out of this method.
How to Hunt Shiny in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC – Teleportation
For the teleportation method to be possible in Hyperspace Lumios, you need to find an area with ground-level “elevators” that take you far forward (or forward and up) and that you can use repeatedly. These cannot be found in the sewers, for example, but will spawn in the actual cityscape. When you find them, and when there's enough distance between the two ground-level teleporters, you'll spawn new Pokemon within 50 meters of the destination and remove anything further than 70 meters from you. Spamming the A button on the Nintendo Switch 2 or regular Switch does the trick, and it can be done with the Turbo Controller.
The teleportation animation doesn't cost time/calories, meaning the clock only ticks while you walk around to see what Pokemon is there.
How to Hunt Shiny in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC – Spawn and Despawn
For those who prefer to scout the area for Shiny Pokemon, a good way is to save the game when entering the new Hyperspace Lumiose area and then walk around looking for Shiny. in Pokemon Legends: ZAWild Pokemon appear within 50 meters of you and disappear when you are 70 or more meters away from them, which means you can explore the entire area, and if no glow appears, you can close the game and start over, then repeat the process.
How to hunt sparkling in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC – Sparkling Power
It is unclear at this stage what exactly triggers this, however Pokemon Legends: ZAAs suggested by popular ingredient maker Austin John Pledge, Hupa can add more power to its donuts if they're too sweet and reach a certain calorie threshold. However, when this happens, the effects are basically the same Pokemon Scarlet and Purpleof shiny sandwiches, making a certain type of Pokemon more likely to be shiny. Since the hyperspace areas already tell you what types and species of Pokemon they contain, using the same type of Sparkling Power Donut is very effective, and it gives you more power to hunt which critters.

As a rare survey task of Hyperspace Lumiose, you'll be able to find one that says “Catch Shiny Pokemon 0/1”, which means that in that instance Shiny has been forced, and you need to find it.
