Bethesda has patched SkyrimToo bad the Switch 2 port, but many players are still disappointed that the game's framerate remains low. While the frequently re-released RPG has become almost universally beloved over its 15-year history, coming to another platform may wear off the novelty. Many fans are unhappy with the latest iteration The Elder Scrolls 5: SkyrimPointing out how such an old game should perform well on new hardware.
In early December, Skyrim Overshadowed by the Switch 2, Nintendo's newest console will have its own port of the game just like the Switch before it. However, it didn't take long for fans to recognize that despite being several years newer and having the benefit of more powerful hardware, the new version and the Switch 1 version just weren't running. Thankfully, Bethesda was just as quick to respond to these complaints, but it looks like the patch doesn't address one of the biggest problems people had with the port.

Bethesda patches Skyrim's input lag on Switch 2, but framerates are still low
On December 19, 10 days after releasing the problematic port, Bethesda announced that it had been patched. SkyrimLatency problem on Switch 2. This was the most common complaint fans had about the version, some say the Switch 2 version Skyrim It was “out of playability” thanks to a delay of as much as a full second between input and in-game actions. Users on Twitter and Reddit now report that the game actually runs much better after the patch, but many say that framerates still struggle to get above 30FPS. Fans have criticized it before Skyrim Switch 2 port only ran at 30FPS when it first came out, so it can be disappointing to see that the game still isn't up to modern standards in that regard.
Some users have noticed higher framerates after this latest patch but these improvements are not consistent. Most of those reporting it say it looks like it Skyrim Currently running around 40FPS, which will be significantly higher than the 30FPS others will encounter but not what many players are hoping for. It is worth pointing out Cyberpunk 2077 The Switch 2 runs between 30 and 40FPS and is a much newer and more graphically demanding game. The fact that a 15-year-old title is barely beating the performance of a game Cyberpunk Disappointing to some on the same console.
Others had a more positive reaction to the patch and the new port, but it remains a controversial topic. It costs $59.99 for the Switch 2 version, while the same for the Anniversary Edition Skyrim Costs $49.99 on Steam, and the PC version is almost certainly $10 cheaper, but performs better. Still, anyone who already has a Switch 1 port can upgrade for free, so the price isn't as great as the poor performance for fans.
It's entirely possible that Bethesda could patch ScreamA Switch 2 version is on the way to further improve its framerates, but no word yet from the studio if that's in the works. Looking ahead, Bethesda says The Elder Scrolls 6 Progress is progressing well, so hopefully the wait won't be too long until fans learn more about it. Hopefully, after the 7-plus-year wait since its announcement, the new The Elder Scrolls The latter will be warmly welcomed Skyrim port, but only time will tell.
