Pokemon fans have always felt the heat when it goes up against fire-types, and in Pokemon Legends: ZA, you'll find no shortage of fiery companions to catch, train, evolve, and bring along on your adventures from the Kalos region to the city of Lumios in the sixth generation.
There are dozens of Fire-type Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: ZA between the base game and the Mega Dimension DLC, but which one is going to be the most worthwhile for your efforts? You'll find plenty of Pokemon with weaknesses to Fire-types' strengths, so it's best to catch these Fire-type Pokemon early.
Talonflame
While we're a little sour that Scorching Pokemon was left off the list of 'mon' that added Mega Evolutions to both Pokemon Legends: ZA and the DLC for Mega Dimensions, we're still big fans of Talonflame even if it's not able to go Mega (yet – we're not losing hope!).
The best catch in every wild zone in Pokemon Legends: ZA
You should probably still catch them all, of course, but if you have to focus on any of them…
If you're looking for a safe, stable, early-game Fire type to help your teams (especially if you didn't choose Tepig as your starter for your Lumiose adventure), then Talonflame is a good bet! Capture any Fletching around town and level it up into one of the fiercest Fire/Flying dual-type Pokemon you could hope for.
Armarogue
If you're one of the many Pokemon fans who recently fell in love with the Charcadet evolution line in the Scarlet and Violet titles, then you'll no doubt be excited to see them return in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: ZA. Work to capture Charcadet from the One Dimensional Rifts and evolve it into Armorooze to enjoy a dual-type Fire/Psychic Pokemon.
Type combinations mean you'll deal a lot of special attack damage, so it's wise to try those stats for your Armarouge whenever possible. Be sure to give it plus moves to help it pack an even more powerful (mental) punch!
Ceruledge
If you turn that hard-earned Charcadet into a Ghost Dual-type instead of a Psychic, you'll be able to evolve it into a Ceruledge instead and enjoy the awesome greatness it brings to the battlefield. While Armarouge wins in terms of defensive capabilities, offensive players may want to lean more on Ceruledge instead.
Although it doesn't get a Mega Evolution form here, we still won't pass on its power. It's a physical attacker on special attacks, so keep this difference in mind when building its moveset with strong options like Flare Blitz, Bitter Blade, and more. A double stack of your defenses on normal and ground moves certainly can't hurt, either!

We always love how the Pokemon team comes up with creative ways to mix up typings, so it's always nice to see a Fire- and Ghost-type in Chandelure—unless you're on the other side of the battle, that is. The Luring Pokemon received a Mega Evolution form in Pokemon Legends: ZA, and it's full of power.
Quasartico Inc. Take Chandelurite from HQ. After beating Ivor for honor in ZA Royale, drop to Rank D (you probably caught Litwick in the sewers below Lumiose City), and double down on finding the Dusk Stone so you can use ZA's best Fire-type Pokemon as soon as possible.

It's always interesting when Pokemon have typings that make them weak in theory, but Scovillain returns from the last Pokemon generation to make another fiery splash, this time with a new Mega Evolution form that's sure to scare.
You'll need to battle this Picante Pokemon in a one-dimensional rift as an evil battle before you can claim its pepper power, but once you defeat it, capture it, and grab a Scovillainite that helps you summon that same powerful power, you'll have all kinds of cool features that come from Spicy Pepper Poké.

After you help a sick Fennekin as one of the side missions when you first arrive in Lumiose City and miss the handrails that come with playing Pokemon Legends: ZA's tutorial, it will eagerly join your party in return for the effort, and you'll earn yourself a powerful new Pokemon companion for the efforts.
Evolve your Fennekin all the way to its final form Delfox, and you'll enjoy a more unique type combination with its Dual Fire and Psychic types. This all but means you're closed to being a special attacker, but with such impressive base stats, it probably won't be a problem for you and Delfox before it evolves into its Mega form.

Everyone loves an adorable little fire starter in the Pokemon games, but it's no surprise to see them grow into terrifying forms in their final evolution, and that's where you'll find Tepig's final form, Amboar. What it loses in cleverness as it evolves, though, it makes up for in outright power.
This Fire/Fighting type can potentially be with you from the start of your second journey here in Pokemon Legends: ZA, if you've chosen Tepig at the start of the game, and that means Emboar will be one of your first experiences using Mega Evolution to make your Pokemon pack more powerful.

Added to the Mega Dimensions DLC for Pokemon Legends: ZA were many other starters in an iconic generation of Pokemon games, and everyone's favorite fire and fighting dual-type chicken Pokemon is back to continue kicking some butt on the battlefield.
Once you earn your stripes and catch your own Blaziken, you'll have the most iconic dual-type Pokemon out there. It's one that cements the standard fire/fighting final starter evolution that we sometimes see broken in the mainline Pokemon games, but if you're looking for a good balance between hot fire and hot moves, look no further.

The original Fire Starter, Charizard has been and will likely remain one of the best Fire-type Pokemon like no other. It's been a fierce fighter since the first generation of games, and if you pick Charmander from the side mission where Mable gives you the Kanto starter, you're on your way to one of the best.
Not only is Charizard powerful in its normal base form, but Charizard X and Charizard Y have two separate Mega Evolution forms. If you're looking to double up on special attacks and stick to primarily using fire moves, Charizard Y might be your best bet, as Charizard X features more detail in the physical attack stat.
