Unfortunately, you can't farm meteor hearts like you can with other ore materials.
Instead, you should actively look for these things as you explore the planet. Thankfully, they're not particularly hard to get once you know where to look, which is good because you'll only get to later parts of the game where you need base upgrades.

Where to find meteor hearts
In order to get yourself a Meteor Heart in StarRupture, you must first find a meteorite in Arcadia-7 and these are not very rare once you know where to look for them. These meteorites can be easily identified from a distance Looking for white smoke billowing out of a giant rock.
Once you see one of these rocks, you can approach it and use your mining tool to destroy it. Each meteor you destroy Gives you one or more meteor heartsBut it takes a long time to destroy them. To speed up this process, you can search for different types of ores inside the meteorite. These are quickly destroyed and stack your mining equipment, increasing its mining efficiency.
The Mining stocks are temporaryAnd if you are not using your mining equipment for a few seconds they will slowly go away.
Meteorites are most common in flat open areas, but you can also occasionally find them in mountains. After each wave, these meteors reset and You can usually find them in the same places.

How to use meteor hearts
There are two main uses for meteorite heart, and Both of them are related to your base coreWhich is the component that you need to put in any building other than rails:
-
You can use a meteorite heart to place a base core in any suitable location, allowing you to build things around it. base core Cannot be placed too close to an abandoned base or other landmarks around the map such as monoliths or underground caves.
-
The Meteorite Heart can also be used to upgrade any specific base core to later levels, which also takes a ton of other materials. Be careful when doing this though, eg You will have a huge horde of aliens attacking you During the upgrade process.
StarRupture features a very large open world, and one of the game's main threats are regular waves of starbursts. If this happens while you're away from your base, you can't protect yourself until you're prepared. So, you should Always have at least one meteor heart and about 1,000 basic building materials in your inventory while exploring.
This will help you create a quick shelter that you can use to prevent all damage from the wave and survive.
