Kai Senat has been busy during his Twitch hiatus
While Kai Senat has become one of the most popular content creators on social media despite his hiatus, he hasn't rested on his laurels. On January 13, Kai Senat released a YouTube video titled “I Quit” in which he said he was putting all his efforts into starting a clothing brand called Vivet. Senat developed the Vivet fashion brand after traveling to Italy and learning some sewing skills. Previously, Senat said he had been dealing with imposter syndrome for several months, and had a lingering sense of self-doubt that prevented him from pursuing some of his passions. Senat said that the extended break from Twitch and live streaming has been good for his mental health, and that he needed to reset his streaming schedule. Cenat also said he's been uploading content to a personal YouTube channel called Kid's Mind, which includes light workouts and book reading.
In a short video posted by TMZ, Senat said the break from Twitch allowed him to “indulge” in the world of fashion development as much as possible. During Mafiathon 3, Cenat reclaimed the record for most subscribed content creator on Twitch, based on all-time subscriber count at any point. Cenat's peak active subscriber count reached 1,112,947 during its previous broadcast. Additionally, Cenat previously set a record at the 2024 Mafiathon 2 event, where he received 320,000 Twitch subscribers. Although Cenat's Twitch subscriber count has shrunk to 46,210 as of this writing, that hasn't stopped Cenat's 20.2 million Twitch followers from continuing to support him. Cenat's current active subscriber count puts him at number six on Twitch's most-subscribed channels. The top spot has since been claimed by Vedal987, who has 343,215 active members as of this writing.
Twitch has also made changes in Kai Senat's absence
Since Cenat's hiatus, Twitch itself has undergone some changes of its own. Although Twitch introduced a gift subscription feature that allowed users to grant up to 1,000 subscriptions to a single channel, the sheer cost of spending thousands of dollars through a single transaction drew the ire of content creators. Due to public backlash against gifting 1,000 Twitch subscriptions, Twitch reversed the change and returned the gift subscription limit to the previous cap of 100. Additionally, Twitch made some changes to the way clips are counted in the site's analytics. Twitch said that, while this results in somewhat lower view counts, the numbers give content creators a more accurate way to see which moments are popular with their audience.
As for Kai Senat, he didn't say when he'll be back on Twitch or livestreaming. Although Sennett teased during Mafiathon 3 that the streamer will return to University in 2026, despite Sennett's previous comments about ending his involvement, time will tell if fans will see Sennett live again on the Amazon-owned service.
