As it turns out, the early morning leak was true, and Marathon is indeed releasing on March 5, less than 45 days away from the time of writing. Bungie's return to the classic shooter that started it all will mark the end of a significant journey that has included alleged acts of plagiarism and indefinite delays.
Ahead of its launch, Bungie dropped a new pre-order trailer, detailing the different versions of the game, including a collector's edition that doesn't actually include the game, along with the title's voice cast. That last bit is especially noteworthy since Marathon's VA cast is the game's equivalent of Ocean's movies.
The marathon will feature the following sounds:

Everyone from Clive Rosefield, Arthur Morgan, Shadowheart, Astarion, Jessie Raspberry and Asajj Ventress, just to name a few. If it wasn't already clear how much of a role story plays in the marathon, it's abundantly clear now.
It could also mean that by the end of the marathon year there could be a Game of the Year nominee, if not an outright winner. Before you tune this out, hear me out.
Jennifer English is the secret sauce for GOTY contestants
As TheGamer's Sam Woods noted back in December, English may be the hidden secret sauce to winning Game of the Year. Three of the last four titles to win the prestigious GOTY have featured English in some capacity, including leadership.
In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, English played Maelle, a stunning performance that also saw her win an individual best performance award. Expedition 33 ended the night which would be followed by several GOTY awards. Before that, in Elden Ring, English played the role of Latena, an NPC from Albinoric Village. Elden Ring also won the GOTY that year.
And, of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't highlight his role as Shadowheart in Baldur's Gate 3, which – you guessed it – won Game of the Year. Say we didn't warn you.
Anyway, what a wonderfully stacked cast. As someone who is remotely interested in the marathon, this is enough for me to find a way to experience the story and hear everyone perform.
