The calling game may seem like a competition on the surface, but the reality is dramatically different. For centuries, Kenzaku has been trying to come up with ideas to evolve humanity, but he's either hit a dead end or someone else has stopped him. According to Tenzen, Kenzaku was stopped twice by the man with six eyes. This caused Kenzaku to kill another user of Six Eyes along with the Star Plasma Vessel. Unfortunately for him, a new vessel and a new user were born during Tengen's assimilation.

After failing again, Kenzaku had to change his approach, so he decided to shut down the Six Eyes user, as the ability cannot be held by two people at the same time. Kenzaku also got lucky because Toji Fushiguro killed the Star Plasma Vessel, breaking the chain of fate that bound him to Tenzen and Gojo Satoru. Later, Kenzaku began searching the prison area to lock up Gojo Satoru, and he finally succeeded in the Shibuya incident arc. With no one to oppose him, the ancient wizard was free to do as he pleased.

The cooling game needs to be stopped at all costs

As stated earlier, Kenzaku wants to force human evolution in Japan, and for that he needs Tenzen. He wants to pit magicians and non-magicians against each other, so that their cursed energies can be adapted and they reach a new level. The Calling Game is the perfect stage for his plan, and it's safe to say that the magician can get exactly what he wants. If that happens, thousands and millions of people may die. In order to stop Kenzaku, Itadori Yuji and his friends need to participate in the Calling Game and beat the ancient magician at their own game.

The Rules of the Calling Game in Jujutsu Kaisen

The cooling game has eight rules that must be followed by all who compete in the competition.

1. Anyone who awakens their curse technique must declare their participation within 19 days to the colony of their choice.

2. Anyone who breaks the first rule will lose their curse technique. Tengen confirmed that it would kill the person. Players with no curse technique will not die from this rule.

3. Non-players entering a colony will become players. This will be considered as an indication of their willingness to participate. However, people already inside the barrier will be given the opportunity to leave once.

4. The only way to earn points is by killing other players.

5. Each player is assigned players based on their skill by the game master. To reduce confusion, each mage's life is worth 5 points, while a non-mage's life is worth 1 point. Cursed souls are also worth 5 points.

6. Players who reach 100 points may request the Game Master to add any new rule, provided it does not disrupt the calling game. Also, a player's point value does not count toward their accumulated points. Furthermore, the player cannot ask for the reduction of any previous ruler.

7. The Game Master must add any new rule, as long as it does not negatively affect the cooling game.

8. If a player's score does not change for 19 days, their curse technique will be removed, which means they will die.

Since the Culling Game is not in full flow, there are no new rules, but that will change in upcoming episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen. The heroes are split into several teams, with Itadori and Yuta already on their way to participate in the Calling Game and save Gozo Satoru. They know that time is short, and they must hurry or risk seeing more people die.
