Baldur's Gate 3 didn't end up being the game we know and love the first time around. Larian put it through an extensive early access period that molded it into everyone's favorite RPG. The process involved changing the way the characters looked, cutting a lot of material, and adding a lot. However, only those who played it in Early Access know how much it has changed since then.
Many players don't realize how different 1.0 was before launch. While there are some remnants that can be found in the final version of the game, most of this cut content will never be seen again. That has now changed, thanks to a mod called 'Restored Early Access Scenes', which reintroduces many to the game.
You can now experience much of the cut content of Baldur's Gate 3
As seen by Rock Paper Shotgun, the massive Baldur's Gate 3 mod was created by HyperspaceTowel, the same dev who worked on reviving one of Astarion's cut scenes in the camp. However, this mod contains over 100 scenes that didn't make it into the final version of the game, for whatever reason.
“BG3 Early Access featured a ton of friend reactivity that didn't make it into the full release game,” the description says. “Some of it was understandably cut, but a surprising amount still works well in the final game. This mod brings over 100 conversations and over 1000 lines of voice dialogue back from the dead – and counting.”
Baldur's Gate 3 is not coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and no I can't believe it either
Larian has confirmed that bringing Baldur's Gate 3 to the Switch 2 is unfortunately out of his hands.
The modder explained that most of this content still fits into the game, but some of it needs a little tweaking and needs to be completely rebuilt. For example, Lotan, a Tiefling child who asks if you have seashells to trade, was removed from the final version of Baldur's Gate 3, but can be encountered again thanks to a mod.
There are so many encounters, reactions, and conversations that the restored mode recreates from Early Access scenes, perfect if you're looking for some new content on your latest playthrough.
