The new year is already off to a strong gaming start, and February looks like an even more jam-packed month for gamers. In addition to the much anticipated horror release Resident Evil requests and AnimalJRPG fans are also being treated well with 4 major games being released in the coming months. Although none of the JRPGs releasing in February 2026 are entirely new experiences, titles such as Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Rune Factory: Azuma's guardian, Ys X: Proud Nordicsand Tales of Berseria Remastered All offer plenty of welcome content that fans of genre champing should have.
Despite being largely a crop of remakes, remasters and ports, the February 2026 line-up of JRPGs explores some iconic franchises and brings back a heap of new content for both newcomers and veterans to enjoy. Dragon Quest 7 examines the reimagined JRPG classic from a new perspective
The Dragon Quest The series has seen several remakes over the past few years, with the original trilogy receiving HD-2D remakes. However Rune Factory: Azuma's guardian Technically available since June 2025, it has been a Nintendo console exclusive and was also the Nintendo Switch 2 launch title. However, this console exclusivity ends in February 2026 when Rune Factory: Azuma's guardian makes its way to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, giving these gamers access to the game for the first time. The game also released a PC version at launch, so it was never exclusive to Nintendo.
The The Rune Factory The series is not a traditional JRPG, although it does contain familiar action JRPG combat mechanics. Instead, it combines these combat features with the farming and life-sim mechanics of the games. Tales of Berseria Remastered gives the fan-favorite a new coat of paint
