Speaking to GameReactor, Battlefield 6 Producer Phil Zirrette commented on what happened in Season 2 about the steps being taken to prevent future delays. He began by addressing exactly why the decision to delay was made. Battlefield 6 Season 2 premiered. “We've seen the content we're planning for Season 2 and we want to give it a little time in the oven to polish things up and make sure we meet the expectations the players have,” Zirrett explained. “Obviously, once you plan the seasons, there's a lot of marketing work behind it, making sure that timing affects many, many other things, not just the game. Future seasons as well. Of course, we need to make sure those hits are expected and we've taken a lot of different steps in different departments to make sure the season ends immediately.”

How its delay will affect Season 2's player count remains to be seen. Battlefield 6 The devs have already talked about how worried they are about the upcoming content drop, and whether it will be enough to get players back into the game. Still, it's good that there's already a plan in place to prevent the same thing from happening in Season 3.
