Customers looking to buy a Steam Deck While running out of places to do so, a new report indicates that Valve's popular handheld has been sold in more territories than previously reported. Although Valve's Steam Deck is still available in some regions, users looking to buy one should act fast before they sell out.
Since its 2022 launch, Steam Deck has given PC gamers a way to play their favorite Steam titles on the go. The Steam Deck initially came in a variety of configurations, with some offering an LCD screen as an alternative to the pricier OLED models. However, in December 2025, Valve discontinued the Steam Deck LCD model worldwide, nearly four years after the handheld's launch. As of this writing, the Steam Deck LCD model was completely sold out in the US, with only the OLED versions available in the market. However, the Steam Deck OLED has been very difficult to purchase since early 2026.

The Steam Deck is sold throughout Europe
After days of Steam Deck OLED being completely sold out across the US, inventory has run out in other regions as well. According to a GamingOnLinux report, Steam Deck OLED is now sold in countries like Poland in the European Union (EU). EU stock status is up with steam deck inventory sales in the US, Canada, and Japan. Additionally, the Steam Deck LCD model is completely sold out across the EU and Asia, as well as running out of stocks across North America. The news isn't all bad for consumers, as the Steam Deck OLED is still available in the UK via Valve, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan via Comodo. However, Comodo estimates that Japan's Steam Deck OLED stock may return to limited quantities by the end of February.

GameRant has confirmed that the Steam deck is still sold out in the US as of this writing, but interested buyers can still make a wishlist to be notified when it's back in stock. Valve has previously stated that the ongoing RAM shortage crisis is the primary reason behind the low inventory of Steam decks. The RAM shortage is fueled by unprecedented demand for RAM, solid-state drives (SSDs) and other essential components, with tech companies looking to build AI-based data centers over the next few years. This has led to ridiculous prices on RAM, SSDs, and graphics cards, with DDR5 RAM costs quadrupling their original MSRP. Additionally, graphics cards with more than 12GB of video memory, such as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, have topped $1,000. While RAM prices have been slowly dropping in the second half of February, the lowest prices for 2×16 GB memory kits remain at $370 on Amazon.
Lack of RAM affects most Steam devices
Of course, the lack of a vapor deck isn't the only problem Valve is facing. The upcoming Steam Machine, which is still scheduled to launch in the first half of 2026, has some snags in its development. Valve said that due to the rising cost of RAM and SSDs, Steam Machine's price and release date have not yet been revealed. This delay is also affecting Steam Frame and the upcoming Steam Controller launch. Some Steam users have requested that Valve release the Steam Controller ahead of the Steam Machine, as it doesn't target RAM or other components running low.
Although the lack of RAM and SSD may outlast the current console generation, customers looking to purchase a Steam Deck in specific regions may be hard to find at the moment. While the situation may not be resolved anytime soon, time will tell what Valve will do to meet demand in the near future.
