In a surprising reversal from historical norms, Call of Duty has completely denied previously reported rumors that it was working on a standalone Zombies title to coincide with the release of the next generation of Xbox consoles.
In a response shared on social media, the official Call of Duty account rubbished the rumor that it only existed for 24 hours.
This is the first time on record that Call of Duty has completely denied any rumors about its future plans. In past instances, when reports come out about what the future slate of Call of Duty titles will look like, the brand has almost never denied things. Instead, he remained silent.

In a statement shared online, Call of Duty confirmed its plans not to do back-to-back annual releases for its Modern Warfare or Black Ops titles. In other words, you'll never see a Black Ops 7 situation again after Black Ops 6.
The company emphasized its desire to further “drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental.” It doesn't share how it plans to do so, but when “the time is right.”
