Yamato Kazakiri is one of the most interesting animal-based sentai within the franchise. He may not have the martial arts expertise of later Sentai, but he does have access to some devastatingly powerful transformations. He has many different forms that he can transform into without issue. Kazakiri also has a fourth and more powerful form that he can access when teaming up with his ally, Bud.
Kazakiri has access to different powers in each of his different animal forms that give him an edge in battle. He dominates land, sea, and air, meaning there aren't many places in which he's at a disadvantage. He may not have as many weapons as future Rangers, but Kazakiri still has some really impressive animal-based techniques.

Kai Ozu is one of the most powerful Red Senshi based on the fact that they have access to literal magic. Ozu actually has fewer changes than his Power Rangers counterpart, but he uses them much better. He changes from MagiRed to Magishine later in his career.
Ozu makes several appearances later Sentai series, but not as important as the original series. That said, after his original series, he is one of the few Senshi to beat another iteration of the franchise. Kai may not be the most popular in Japan due to his fantasy focus, but Kai remains one of the strongest magic-based rangers in the series.

Alata is unquestionably more powerful than him Power Rangers counterpart, because he is a literal angel. Since he is a current Sentai adaptation, Alata features in almost every recent iteration of the show. On top of his angelic status, Alata is also terrifyingly powerful and features a dramatic super mode. One of Alata's most powerful skills is her ability to easily see the “true essence” of any object around her.
Angels know if people are lying, know their intentions before they speak, and can even predict the future to a strong degree. He also has wind-based powers which he regularly uses to great effect. He may not be the most striking of the Red Senshi, but his power alone makes him a fearsome fighter.

Lucky, also known as Shishi Red, is terrifyingly powerful despite his more docile personality. He is supported by the entire galaxy and even becomes king at one point. He has many terrifying forms for a sensei, and transforms regularly to suit the needs of the situation. He and the other Kyurangers are based on constellations, giving them some incredible powers.
