Saiyans are the most famous race Dragon Ball Outside of humans, but are they really strong? Throughout its run, Dragon Ball introduced fans to many different characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Due to the incredible things we've seen from characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan, many fans feel that Saiyans are among the strongest species in the series.
But there's a whole universe of characters, and they're all a little different. Considering the overall achievements of the various species in Dragon Ball, not just the Outsiders, these are the strongest races in the franchise.
Every major Dragon Ball villain, ranked from weakest to strongest
The early Dragon Ball villains don't look that strong anymore, but it's still worth looking at who was the most powerful.
Yardrats
The Yardats are by no means the strongest running back in the series. But what they lack in physical strength and fighting ability, they make up for in other ways. Yardats have honed skills that can affect space, time and energy.
Their most notable achievement is the creation of instant transmission technology, which has served Goku well over the years. This falls under the general umbrella of soul control, which Yardats use to employ techniques such as cloning and gigantification. It doesn't make them strong, but it still makes them a remarkable species and shows how creative some of the weaker races can be in Dragon Ball.
the people
Dragon Ball is the most exclusive race of human characters, with characters such as Master Roshi, Krillin, Bulma, and Yamcha playing important roles early in the series. They may not stand out much compared to other races, but people can be very tough.
There are alien races that are naturally stronger than most humans, with most lacking the ability to fly or control ki the way the main cast can. Still, notable human characters like Krillin, Tien, and altered creatures like Android 17 and 18 show just how much potential humans have. Dragon Ball.
Names
The Namekians are one of the strongest mortal races in the series, possessing unusually high power levels and other abilities that set them apart. Their society is divided into the warrior and dragon clans, the former being more combat-oriented like Piccolo and Nell, and the latter being highly qualified for magical abilities such as creating dragon balls like the Dende and Kami.
Of all the Namekians, Piccolo gets the most attention and eventually becomes the most powerful Namekian in history. Z. The regular names are capable in their own right, but none have shown the same kind of potential and progression that we've seen from Piccolo throughout the series.
Glines
Some Dragon Ball fans may refer to them as Kais, but the real word for them is Glind. The Glynds are the race we know in Dragon Ball as the Kais and the Supreme Kais.
In terms of power, Glinds can be difficult to read. They are definitely stronger than most, their floor is higher than most moral species. Some mortal characters like Goku and Vegeta have surpassed their limits and are stronger than most Glynds. Still, overall, they surpass the majority of regular species in the Dragon Ball universe.
Mazins
Not to be confused with Majin Buu, these Majin are the ones that live in the demo area. before DAIMAMost notable of the series was Majin Dabura. Majins are a monster race that has incredible combat prowess and are exceptionally skilled when it comes to using magic in battle.
Like most powerful races, Majins have a variety of transformations they can achieve that give them greater power in battle. The type of transformation depends on the character, but Mazins in the franchise have been shown to be able to power up into Transcended States, as well as Dark and Demon God forms.
Saiyan
until the end of ZThe series' strongest known characters were the Saiyans, with Goku and Vegeta reaching the peak of their potential after years of training and dueling. Although there aren't many left, the Saiyans were known for their fighting skills and feared by those around them for their prowess in battle.
But when it comes down to it, even the so-called “Saiyan Elites” weren't all that impressive when matched up against the top-tier members of the Frieza Force and many other global threats. But as characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Broly have shown, Saiyans themselves have the ability to become absolute forces of nature, given enough time and the right training/conditions.
Freeza Race
We've only been introduced to a handful of them in the series, but from what we've seen, members of the Frieza race are incredibly strong compared to most of those around them. It's no wonder Frieza and King Cold have had such an iron grip on Universe 7 for so long.
Members of the Frieza race are distinct from most fighters even in their base forms, and have access to a variety of transformations and power-ups similar to what we see with Saiyans. Frieza is a fighting prodigy, and although you can assume that not all members of his species will be as strong and talented as him, it shows that members of the Frieza race have a certain edge when it comes to combat that most fighters do not.
Eternal Dragons
They may not be as strong as traditional fighters, but Eternal Dragons are incredibly powerful creatures whose powers and abilities surpass most mortals in the Dragon Ball universe. Rather than being affected by physical abilities, Eternal Dragons are wish-granters who can do almost anything depending on the particular dragon.
Shenron is obviously the most famous Eternal Dragon, but other dragons like Porunga and Super Shenron are more powerful. Each dragon has its limits (except Super Shenron), but considering what they can do, it's only natural to rank the Eternal Dragons as the most powerful creatures in the series.
Angels
The absolute strongest non-mortal species, angels don't seem all that intimidating at first, but they shouldn't be taken lightly, even by the strongest characters in the series. Angels serve as attendants and teachers to the gods of destruction, both assisting them in their duties and training them to best use their destructive abilities.
Angels can pull things we haven't seen from even the strongest members of the strongest race in Dragon Ball. They are always using Perfected Ultra Instinct, and can pull off incredible feats like manipulating time, and even resurrecting the dead, just like Eternal Dragons, but without the same limitations.
