Despite its relatively limited moves in the early levels, Abra is one of the hardest Pokemon to catch. Fire red and leaf green. Thanks to its only move being teleport, which allows it to avoid battles and a high speed stat, when trying to catch one in the wild you often have to throw a Poke Ball at it and hope for the best. Fortunately, Abra has an easy way to get inside Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen If you are willing to wait and try your luck. To capture this psychic-type creature, and learn how to evolve it into Kadabra and then Alkazam.

How to get Abra in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
Abra can be found on Route 24 and Route 25, both of which are directly north of Cerulean City. This means you can find Abra in the wild relatively early in your adventure throughout Kanto, but there's a slight catch.
As mentioned above, Abra can be very difficult to catch. Teleport is the only move it will know and allows the Pokemon to escape battle after you encounter it. Due to its high speed status, Abra also has a good chance to go first, making it difficult to attack to weaken it before it disappears.
With that in mind, your best bet for catching an Abra in the wild is to use Great Ball or Ultra Ball. This may seem like overkill, but given Abra's relatively low level in the wild, it should be more than enough to catch up to full health before having a chance to use Teleport.
Alternatively, if you go to Celadon City and enter the Game Corner, you can buy a level 9 Abra in FireRed for 180 coins and a level 7 Abra in LeafGreen for 120 coins. These coins must be won in slot machines in the game corner itself.
Evolving Abra into Kadabra and Alakazam into Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
Abra can be trained to level 16 and evolve into Kadabra. Once it reaches level 16, the evolution animation should start after the battle. The problem here is that Abra will only learn teleport through leveling. As such, you either have to teach it new moves through TMs, or put it in your party first so it starts a fight, and immediately withdraw for another Pokemon so they share the EXP earned by defeating the opposing Pokemon.
To evolve Kadabra into Alkazam, you need to trade it. To do this, go to the Pokemon Center and go up to the second floor. Now go to the Direct Corner and select the Trade Center option, where you can trade Pokemon with a friend via local wireless.
The Nintendo Switch versions of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen have no online trading. As such, you should meet up with a friend who has a version of the game.
Trade your Kadabra to a friend and trade them back. I recommend trading a Pokemon that needs to be traded to evolve like Haunter or Graveler to make it worth your while for both of you. You'll both tick off the evolved Pokemon from your Pokedex!
