When you start playing Resident Evil Requiem as Grace, you'll quickly learn how limited resources are. This is to be expected in survival horror, as it puts both the survival and horror aspects to the test. Living with few resources is part of what makes Sections of Grace so stressful, but that doesn't mean you have nothing at your disposal.
While ammo will certainly be limited, it's not the only thing you can use when searching the house. You'll gain access to items you can craft to help save ammo, and these options will keep you from running out of ammo when you need it.
Steal as much as possible
This may seem pretty obvious, but a great part of playing as Grace is sneaking through each area. Take your time to learn the patterns and directions of each infected in the area, and use them to your advantage to get around.
In some sections, it's as easy as running past a slow infected, while for others, you'll need to time your moves based on them. At the very least, this will ensure that you have enough ammo to deal with larger and more deadly infected.

Prioritize headshots
Instead of shooting wildly while trying to destroy the infected, focus on their head or feet. These critical points will help you keep them down and allow you to get in some easy headshots while they're on the ground, dealing more damage and taking them out faster.
You'll use less ammo with these specific landed shots, while making it easier to defeat the infected at the same time. If you hit these critical points there is also a high chance that the infected will bleed.
Wait until the reticle is small in pinpoint when trained to deal more damage to the enemy.
Avoid killing all enemies
Although it's not obvious in the early game, avoiding killing everything isn't only useful for saving ammo, it'll be good as you progress through the game if you need to backtrack.
This doesn't necessarily mean hiding, as you can easily avoid most infected. Killing everything at the end as the game progresses would be a waste of ammo.
Keep arms crossed
Temporary and hunting weapons are great because they have so many uses. Not only can you use them to slash enemies and conserve ammo, but if you're attacked, you can embed them into your enemy to help them recalibrate before firing.
Helping to keep your ammo from using up, makeshift weapons not only help you withstand melee attacks, but once their durability wears off, they can be made into scraps you can then use to make more ammo.
Get more guns
More gun options means more ammo available to you. While you'll have limited bag space, the more guns you have, the more ammo you've got on hand. If you run out of one, you're sure to have ammo on hand for the other.
While you start with the B934 and handgun ammo is easy to find, you will eventually find the stronger S&S M232 which will deal more damage. You get your hands on Requiem right away, though you'll only start with one bullet. Fortunately, you'll be able to craft more.
Upgrade your weapon effectiveness
Another way to save ammo is to use craft and stabilizer. This will permanently increase your firepower and stability, ideally dealing more damage and requiring less ammo to defeat enemies.
You'll be able to find something while playing the game, but you'll also eventually have the option to craft. Once used, it makes taking on enemies a little easier, and with increased stability, you'll miss fewer shots and waste less ammo.
Don't waste ammo on bigger enemies
A big waste of ammo is dumping bullets into the big stalking enemies you find in the game. It will take a lot of ammo to take them down at first, so you should avoid wasting a ton of ammo trying to do so.
Your best course of action is to either use Hemolytic Injectors on them, run away from them, or use a powerful Requiem to take them out in one shot.
Enemies attack each other
It actually comes with an achievement/trophy if you can manage it. Depending on how you do it, you won't have to waste your precious resources, but you can attack each other with infected.
One of the easiest interactions to do is get an infected who doesn't like the sound triggered by the sound of you throwing an empty bottle at another infected. Destroy multiple enemies at once with Requiem
The Requiem gun is powerful enough to blast through multiple enemies at once. A good way to save ammo is to use one bullet to kill multiple infected.
If you can line them up nicely in a hallway or doorway, it takes one shot to destroy most of them in one shot. This will save you precious Requiem ammo and will also destroy the more difficult infected that take a lot of handgun ammo.
