We have seen some tough captains do wonders in the series so far. It's not just Luffy taking all the spotlight, though, as the Straw Hat captain pulls off incredible feat after incredible feat. With so many notorious captains roaming the seas, world governments have taken notice and placed some ridiculous bounties on their heads. It stands as the highest captain bounty in the series.

Monkey D. Luffy / Trafalgar D. Water Law / Eustass Kid – 3,000,000,000 Berries
This means that members of the worst generation will have some of the highest bounties in the series. Luffy, Law, and Kid have done a lot to get the attention of the world government, and the price on their heads shows how much of a threat they are to the people who rule the world.
Luffy has come a long way from the initial 30,000,000 berry bounty he earned in East Blue, gradually increasing his bounty to what it is now in Marineford, Enies Lobby, Dressrosa, Wano, and more. Law's bounty went from 80,000,000 berries to 200,000,000 series, making him a super rookie. This later jumped to 440,000,000 berries after the timeskip, and reached 500,000,000 after he and Luffy took down the Doflamingo and Donquixote Pirates. The kid started with the highest reward, earning a 315,000,000 berry reward for terrorizing the citizens. But as much as the world government is willing to cover things up and lie, who knows how much of it is true. His bounty was increased to 470,000,000 during the timeskip, and his bounty was shot up to 3,000,000,000 berries after he and Law took on Big Mother.
Buggy – 3,189,000,000 berries
None of the characters have progressed a piece As much as Buggy has throughout his time as a pirate. Although he is notable for being a part of the Roger Pirates in his youth, Buggy is not as much of a force in the pirating world as his former crewmate Shanks. But that hasn't stopped him from earning some of the biggest bounties in the series.
Even while in East Blue, Buggy's bounty reached 15,000,000 berries. Considering how incompetent he was, that still seemed high, but it would balloon to 3,189,000,000 berries when the Seven Warlords of the Sea were dismissed, and Buggy was publicly recognized as the Emperor and leader of the Cross Guild. Although the Cross Guild isn't technically a pirate crew, its members are all pirates, making Buggy their “captain” (if only in name).
Blackbeard – 3,996,000,000 berries
We do not know if his father, Rox d. How much was Zebek's bounty, but we can be sure that Blackbeard is still following his father there. With everything he's got, you can expect Backbeard to get an even higher bounty soon – one that will likely eclipse Rax's bounty, though we're still waiting on an official number.
When Geko Moriya attacks Hachinosu, Blackbird's bounty is revealed to be 2,247,600,000 berries. After some time, his reward increased to 3,996,000,000 berries. We don't know what actions earned Teach such high bounties, but it's clear that the World Government is paying attention to the Blackbeard Pirates and takes the threat they pose to their rule very seriously.
Big Mom – 4,388,000,000 berries
As a former emperor and leader of one of the largest crews around, Big Mom is an absolute force of nature in the pirate world. As a former member of the Rocks Pirates and a current user of Soru Soru no Mi, it's easy to see why Big Mom received as big a reward as she did.
At only six years old, Linlin was slapped with a 50,000,000 berry bounty when she joined forces with Strusen. She will later earn a 500,000,000 berry bounty, and that bounty will be 4,388,000,000 berries before the events of the Whole Cake Island arc. Grandmother was one of the greatest pirates of her era, so it makes sense to see the world government place such a high value on her.
Kaido – 4,611,100,000 berries
Another former member of the Rocks Pirates, Kaido proved to be the fearsome force his reputation suggested. Captain of the Beast Pirates, Kaido leads the largest and most powerful crew in the modern One Piece world.
When he was 13 years old, Kaido earned a 70,000,000 berry reward for escaping from an ocean liner, putting a big target on his back, like a big mother at a young age. Between his time as a member of the Rocks Pirates and the events in Wano, Kaido did enough to earn an incredible 4,611,100,000 berry bounty.
Shanks – 4,048,900,000 berries
As we get deeper and deeper a piece Last game, it became more and more clear that Shanks would play a more important role than fans thought. One of the Four Emperors, a member of the Figarland family, and a former member of the Roger Pirates, it's easy to see why Shanks' bounty is as high as it is.

Shanks has only had two notable bounties in the entire series. At the beginning of the series, Shanks' bounty was set at 1,040,000,000 berries. By the time the World Government got rid of the Seven Warlords system, Shanks' bounty had increased to 4,048,900,000 berries. With all the time he spent at sea, and his brief return to the Figarland family, it's not hard to guess that Shanks' bounty got as high as it did. You have to assume that he stole Gomu Gomu no Mi, given what we know about it now, of course he played a big role in earning the highest bounties in the series.
Whitebeard – 5,046,000,000 berries
Like many of the captains on this list, Whitebeard's career was pretty old until we started following Luffy's own journey to greatness. A former member of the Rocks Pirates along with Big Mom and Kaido, Whitebeard was considered the strongest pirate alive after Roger's death, and won the title of World's Strongest Man.
His reputation, massive crew, and incredibly powerful Gura Gura no Me Devil Fruit made him one of the greatest threats to the World Government. Before his death, Whitebeard was the strongest of the four emperors, so it only makes sense that he earned the highest reward of the group.
Gol de Roger – 5,564,800,000 berries
Considered the greatest pirate and having earned the title of Pirate King, the captain of the Roger Pirates, Gol de Roger, was one of the most important figures. a piece history Roger was part of some of the series' most consequential events, and ushered in the Great Pirate Era with his execution at the hands of the World Government.
Roger was awarded the highest bounty of any pirate in history, with no other pirate coming close after his death. The only other character to surpass 5,000,000,000 berries is Whitebeard, and with how things are playing out, Luffy, Blackbeard, and Shanks have a chance to close or surpass Roger's bounty. But as it stands, the Pirate King wins.
