Necrobinder is one of five characters currently available Spire 2 killed That you can control. A skeletal necromancer, this hero revolves around Doom status effects, using his giant skeletal arm otsi to attack, and draw more cards than God himself.
However, with so many different directions you can take this character's deck, which one is the most consistent and best for clearing the spire? Here are Necrobinder's best cards, deck strategy, and if there are any relics you should keep an eye on.
Best Necrobinder build
archetype
While Doom and Otsy are fun to use, If you're serious about cleaving through bosses, you'll want to use the soul mechanic. Essentially, souls are colorless, zero-energy cards that draw two cards when played and have an exhausted status effect. This means, once they are used up, the spirits are gone for good.
Also, Souls can only be created through other cards in the Necrobinder's library that specifically state what they create. An example of this is Reave, which costs one energy, deals 9 damage to any target, and creates a single soul. That soul goes into your draw pile, so don't expect it to be available immediately upon creation.

Here's what you need to know if you're struggling with The Silent in Slay The Spire 2.
The best cards
When it comes to actually building the deck, you're looking for a mix of support and pay cards to ensure that you can actually draw enough cards, to close the battle at a reasonable time. The main spirit creation package you'll want:
|
the name |
Energy costs |
effect |
|---|---|---|
|
Grave Warden |
1 |
Get 8 blocks. Add a soul to your draw pile. |
|
rev |
1 |
Contract 9 damages. Add a soul to your draw pile. |
|
soul capture |
1 |
Enemy loses 3 HP. Add 3 souls to your draw pile. |
|
Glimpse |
1 |
All players add 3 souls to their draw pile. exit |
|
Sense |
1 |
Ethereal. Convert a card in your draw pile into a soul. |
|
disconnection |
2 |
13 Compromise damages. Add a soul to your hand, draw the pile, and discard the pile. |
|
Dirge |
X |
Call 3 X times. Add X souls to your draw pile. |
Among these soul makers, The big ones you always want to take are Grave Warden, Capture Spirit, and Dirge. The former is incredible because it builds soul, gives you block, and costs an energy, making it an incredible replacement for your defend cards.
Capture Spirit is another cheap, efficient spell that deals a small amount of damage but creates three spirits for the low cost of a single energy. Finally, Dirge is a great set-up card that builds X souls and increases Otsy's health. This is a terrific spell for when your opponent is going to launch a big attack, as you can damage the Otsy tank while filling your library with souls.
Now that you've got your hands and library full of souls, we need a way to use them. This is where our payment cards come in, as they will provide us with benefits by drawing cards or specifically using spirits. These cards include:
|
the name |
Energy costs |
effect |
|---|---|---|
|
eat life |
1 |
When you play a spirit, summon 1. |
|
Haunt |
1 |
A random enemy loses 6 HP when you play a soul. |
|
Death March |
1 |
Contract 8 damages. Deals 3 extra damage for each card drawn during your turn. |
|
Spirit storm |
1 |
Contract 9 damages. Deals 2 more damage for each soul in your discard pile. |
|
A golden axis |
1 |
This battle deals damage equal to the number of cards played. |
When it comes to actually killing your enemies, The three biggest cards you want for your deck are Soul Storm, Death March, and Hunt. Soul Storm is a really incredible card because it keeps the fight going for a long time and can deal a stupid amount of damage to the many Souls you play. This is an especially good card against Tanker bosses who either have a lot of armor or a large health pool.
Haunt and Death March will be your bread and butter damage dealers, the former rewarding you for all the cards you draw with spirits and the latter rewarding you for just playing them. You want multiples of these – especially Haunt, because the effect can stack and get out of hand really quickly.
Rounding out the loss dealers is Gold Ax, which while not an ideal choice, can be a decent option if the RNG isn't giving you too many other paying cards. It only cares about the spells you play in solo mode, which is fine if you're just spamming a ton of souls, but doesn't hit as hard as Hunt, Death March, or Soul Storm.
Devour Life is a ridiculously good card because it boosts Otsi's health when you play Soul. This can quickly snowball out of control, making Otsy a brick wall that your enemies need to knock down if they have any hope of hitting you.
Finally, let's talk about support cards that, while not soul themed, offer great benefits and work well in the deck.
|
the name |
Energy costs |
effect |
|---|---|---|
|
Borrow time |
Apply 3 dooms to yourself. 1 Gain energy. |
|
|
Neurosurg |
3 Gain energy. Draw 2 cards. Apply 3 Doom to yourself at the start of your turn. |
|
|
Dredge |
1 |
Put 2 cards from your discard pile into your hand. exit |
|
Transformation |
1 |
Add a replay to a card in your hand. It consumes extra energy. exit |
Borrowed Time is one of the best cards that Necrobinder has access toperiod. The three dooms you inflict on yourself are an almost entirely irrelevant cost for the gain of a single energy. Neurosurge is a slightly better version of this, but has more risk since you're getting 3 Doom a turn. I recommend trying to play this later in a fight to make sure your doom stack becomes a real threat to your run.
Some other decent cards that can be fun inclusions are Dredge, which lets you get the card you need from your discard pile while Tranfigure gives a spell replay, which lets you do some very strong moves, like Soul Storm, Dirge, and Hunt Copy. Just make sure you don't have a ton of these in your deck, as you'll want to focus mainly on soul creation and paying spells.
Best Relics
While any remnant is good to have, there are a few worth keeping in mind if you're building on the spirit.
|
the name |
Description |
|---|---|
|
the pendulum |
When you shuffle your draw pile, draw a card. |
|
Funeral mask |
At the start of each battle, add 3 souls to your draw pile. |
|
Dolly's Mirror |
After pickup, add an extra copy of the card to your deck. |
|
Chemical X |
The effects of your cost X cards are increased by 2. |
|
Razor teeth |
Each time you play an attack or skill, upgrade it for the rest of the battle. |
|
Letter opener |
Every time you play 3 skills in the same turn, deal 5 damage to all enemies. |
The first is Pendulum, which gives you an extra card when you find your draw pile. You'll be doing this quite a bit since you're churning through your deck so quickly, which triggers the pendulum a bit in single combat.
Another solid relic is Funerary Mask, which starts you off with 3 free souls in your draw pile at the start of each battle. Dolly's Mirror lets you copy any card in your deck, which allows for more stability, and Chemical X is great if you have a lot of Dirge cards in your deck. Razor Tooth allows your attack and skill cards to deal damage over a longer period of time in combatWhile Letter Opener is another great damage option since all your souls count as a skill.
