TT Khel Dev explains the reason behind the short character list
Chief Product Officer and Strategic Director Jonathan Smith recently sat down with IGN and discussed the small roster. He said, “The story is more focused on a tight roster of characters that is now differentiated with much deeper gameplay.” Fewer characters is the best approach to pave the way for more dynamic gameplay that is specific to each character. He added, “So you're constantly developing new skills and unlocking new abilities for each of those characters. Even within the Batfamily, we wanted to focus on making those characters really unique, finding their personalities and making their abilities very different.”
One of the most interesting examples of personality-specific gameplay is with Catwoman. Not only does she use her whip, but she can also command a group of kittens to attack enemies with a laser pointer.
The Lego Batman The games are known for their strong character lineups, but gameplay has historically not taken personality into account. In other words, improved gameplay is a trade-off for a smaller character roster. That doesn't mean it won't be controversial for long-time players, but it does mean that the developers are working to make LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's gameplay the series' excellent. If Legacy of the Dark Knight The gameplay is really stellar, which will make up for the lack of character options.
There may not be many characters, but Legacy of the Dark Knight Bringing more suits for players to collect, Smith confirmed that there will be more than 100 suits throughout the game. It's a solid way to add more variety without building a large character roster. on top of that, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark KnightThe pre-order bonus includes several suits to help players get a good start on their collection.
More dynamic gameplay is great, but would be hard to make up for with fewer characters
Some fan-favorite characters will probably be absent Legacy of the Dark KnightAnd that can prove difficult to make up for gameplay. Even with better combat, not having certain characters as playable options can feel like there's a gaping hole in the middle. Legacy of the Dark Knight. Of course, the only way to know for sure is to play the game, but it wouldn't be surprising if it was a deal breaker for some. Lego Batman Franchise fans.
Between less playable characters and facts LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight With no online co-op, TT Games is making some surprising decisions. It's important to note that LEGO games made by TT Games have a history of embracing couch co-op online, but there are still gamers who are probably frustrated that they can't play online with friends.

The expansion stars the playable Joker and Harley Quinn.
A DLC for Legacy of the Dark Knight has already been confirmed, and it's clear that it's going to add more playable characters to the equation. Although there are only seven playable characters at launch, this DLC shows that TT Games is likely going to use expansions as a way to add more options. It still may not reach the heights of past games and may prove controversial in its own right. After all, the Lego Batman The franchise is no stranger to DLC, but many gamers are getting tired of the constant monetization of extra features. Only time will tell how much the DLC will cost for players who don't get the deluxe version.
There is still always a chance Legacy of the Dark Knight Proves that a Lego Batman The game doesn't need a ton of playable characters for a great experience. Lego Batman The titles are some of the best DC games to release, and it's exciting that another one is on the way to see how much it plays with the tried-and-true formula.
