Some Switch 1 owners are not happy about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Some Switch 1 owners are unhappy with the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, reflecting broader concerns with Nintendo's product strategy.
Switch 2 upgrades for those other games are the cheapest Super Mario Bros. Wonder’s $19.99 upgrade pack, and so some Nintendo fans may be hesitant to take the plunge. After spending some time playing through the new content Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel ParkI have to say I don't think it's really worth the asking price.
Super Mario Bros. What comes with the Wonder Switch 2 upgrade
After upgrading to a new version of the game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder Whacks players into the new Belabell Park area. The main quest here is to find Captain Toad in each world to start a boss fight against the Koopalings, with the twist that the Koopalings have been given wonder powers by Bowser. These boss fights are fun and imaginative, and include short mini-levels leading up to them. They are a real highlight of the package, but they can all be completed in about 30 minutes or so, and for one is also bogged down by a surprising amount of yapping. Super killed the game There's a lot to set things up and even a lot of chat between fights. It's also inconvenient how the game forces players to return to Bellabell Park after each battle instead of letting them go from one boss fight to the next.
Players have access to everything Super Mario Bros. Wonderof power-ups and badges from the base game to help them fight the Koopalings, but they also have access to the new Super Flower Pot power-up. Super Flower Pot turns players into a plant and gives them petal projectiles. It's a nice addition, but I definitely prefer the elephant power-up itself.
Dual badges have been added, plus players can play as Rosalina and Luma in all of them Super Mario Bros. WonderThe content of But aside from going back through the worlds of the base game and battling new coupling bosses, players will also want to check out what's available in the titular Belabell Park.
Bellabell Park is very busy, as players can spend water they can collect to complete challenges to unlock various items, including decorations that can be used to decorate the park. like Super Mario Bros. WonderStandees, these items work in a kind of gacha system, where players never know what they are going to get. There are cooperative challenges and challenges available to get more water, but they often reuse areas from the base game and add new things to them, such as collecting coins that challenge players to play in one part of the level and another in which players compete to see who Yoshi can eat the most.
Have you played Super Mario Bros. Should I buy Wonder's Switch 2 upgrade?
None of this stuff is particularly compelling, but can be fun with a group of friends. Personally, after beating Koopaling, I felt less desire to get 100% than when I played the base game. Super Mario Bros. Wonder A few years ago, so I don't imagine I'll be going back to the Switch 2 version very often. If it were cheaper, it would be an easy recommendation, but $19.99 is what it stands for Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park brings to the table.
