The most visually distinct and important part of Power Rangers Easily color coordinated. Each ranger has specific colors and, more often than not, those colors indicate something between the rangers. These stereotypes aren't often followed, but they help set the example for the character without revealing anything about them.
Sure, some Power Ranger colors are more popular than others, but that doesn't make them any better. Each color has something important that they bring to the battlefield or training hall. Ultimately, no Power Ranger can be good at everything, but a Ranger's specific color can give an idea of what their overall skills might be.

There has only been one official Orange Ranger, so far
Number of Cannon Rangers: 1
As of 2026, there is only one official Orange Ranger in all of Power Rangers. Right now, the honor rests with the Fern of the Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury repetition. She serves as a rival to his girlfriend Izzy before joining the team before their romance officially blossoms. That being said, because there is so little to go on, the Orange Rangers have had some of the worst performances in the franchise.
Each Mighty Morphin 'Power Rangers' color, main weapon, form, age, height and zords
The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are the original and most unique rangers in the franchise's entire history.
Even counting the non-canonical SPD Orange Ranger and Cat Ranger under Color, there aren't enough feats compared to the other Rangers. Fern is an incredible fighter, and her skills are widely evident, but that doesn't make up for the franchise's absence as a whole. Hopefully, more adaptations will follow Super Sentai Root and make orange the recurring color within the chain.

Purple Rangers are incredibly rare, but powerful
Number of Cannon Rangers: 4
Purple is another of the extremely rare Power Rangers colors. However, the Purple Rangers also have two of the strongest fighters the franchise has ever seen. While RJ and Tarrick are certainly impressive, they aren't enough to make up for the fact that they remain the best display of colors.
Power Rangers: 8 powerful purple rangers, ranked
There aren't many Purple Power Rangers in the franchise but these are the strongest of the bunch.
Purple may be one of the most popular colors on the spectrum, but it's easily overlooked within Power Rangers. More often than not, the color is associated with bad on show, meaning it's often underused. Thankfully, recent Power Rangers iterations have eased into adding more interesting costumes and colors.
9
Yellow Rangers are generally more tactical fighters
Number of Cannon Rangers: 21
The Yellow Rangers are often some of the best tactical fighters in the franchise. They have some incredible members, such as Taylor Erdhardt, who led the Wild Force Rangers, and Trini Kwan, who is one of the only Rangers to sacrifice herself in battle. However, the relatively minimal performances of the other Yellow Rangers make the entire group suffer.
In general, Yellow Rangers prefer to assess a battle from the outside before engaging in direct combat. They are usually the most intelligent members, second only to Blue, and regularly assist in Zord care and maintenance. More often than not, the Yellow Rangers are actually better than during the war.
8
White Rangers are usually evil Rangers, well-built, or mentor figures
Number of Cannon Rangers: 9
The White Rangers are often the most powerful members of any Rangers team, but that often comes with a catch. Each White Ranger usually starts out as either a minor antagonist, or acts as a mentor rather than an active member of the team. The White Rangers are often incredibly strong, but that power is sometimes used on the Rangers instead of their enemies.
Trent Fernandez, Tommy Oliver and Dominic Hargan tried to defeat the Power Rangers before eventually joining them. Ultimately, the White Rangers have some incredible power, but that doesn't justify the path they took to get it. Furthermore, every White Ranger has a chance to return to their evil ways if they suffer further manipulation.
7
Blue Rangers are often the most talented of their respective teams
Number of Cannon Rangers: 23
Blue Rangers are usually the most intelligent members of each respective group. This policy started with Billy Cranston and continued in regular iterations. Not every Blue Ranger is a genius, but they are often the smartest members of every adaptation. The Blue Rangers, who are clearly not intelligent, are generally strict rule followers.
Besides Billy, the Blue Rangers have some truly incredible members, such as Sky Tate and Theo Martin. These members are classified not only by their intelligence, but also by their desire to become a Red Ranger. Sadly, only Skye actually fulfills her dreams and eventually becomes an SPD Dekka Ranger.
6
The Pink Rangers had several notable leaders, including Jane Scotts
Number of Cannon Rangers: 16
The Pink Rangers are usually the heart of their Ranger team, but they are also the most popular. Jane Scotts, Pink Time Force Ranger, is one of the only Pink Rangers to lead a Red Ranger into battle. The modern Pink Rangers, save Amelia Jones, suffered from a little damsel-in-distress complex, but that issue has apparently been resolved.
Pink Rangers are undoubtedly the most important members of every team. They hold the team together and help build morale despite obstacles. Jane might be the most serious of the Pink Rangers, but that's the whole point of her character. However, she probably deserved the Red Ranger role.
5
Black Ranger initially served as Power Rangers second-in-command
Number of Cannon Rangers: 16
The Black Rangers were originally meant to serve as second-in-command to the Red Rangers. The first black ranger was Jack Taylor, who created his own style by mixing his impressive dance moves with his martial arts. Since then, the Black Rangers have been known for their talent and strength.
Tommy Oliver finally takes on the role of Black Ranger as he mentors the Dino Thunder Rangers. This alone gives Rang a lot more credibility as he is one of the strongest Power Rangers of all time. Aside from that, the Black Rangers are often the strongest members of their respective series.
4
Silver Ranger is one of the rarest, but coolest Power Ranger colors
Number of Cannon Rangers: 9
Silver Rangers are certainly rare, but every one of them is extremely beautiful. Titanium Ranger is a completely original Power Rangers creation without the use of Super Sentai footage. The majority of Silver Rangers have access to a different level of power than regular Rangers, and often take on the “sixth ranger” role within a series.
Given the popularity of the Titanium Ranger alone, the Silver Rangers are the biggest of each adaptation. With members like Merrick Baliton, Zhane, and Tyzonne, Rang features many of the greatest fighters within the series. It also has Orion, who has the power of every previous sixth ranger within the entire French.
3
The Green Ranger is usually either comic relief or an absolute powerhouse
Number of Cannon Rangers: 15
Over time, green has become a relatively common color among Rangers teams. Still, Tommy Oliver's role as the Green Ranger has always made the color iconic. While none have captured the same aura as Tommy Oliver's Green Ranger, many Rangers have tried to follow. Some of the most notable have been Cam Watanabe, Tripp, and Bridge Carson.
Power Rangers: 10 Best Green Rangers, Ranked
Green may have joined the Power Rangers as an extra member of the group, but quickly became one of the team's main colors.
Apparently, Tommy Oliver is the greatest member of the Green Rangers. However, what roles do the other members play? The other Green Rangers establish the color's more fun-loving side, while Oliver makes sure it's never forgotten.
2
The Gold Rangers are often the most visually distinct of the Rangers
Number of Cannon Rangers: 9
One of the most popular Power Ranger colors is gold for obvious reasons. There are only 9 Gold Rangers in the entire series, but each of those Rangers is terrifyingly powerful. Antonio Garcia is easily one of the fastest Rangers Power Rangers has ever seen, and Jason Lee Scott's reputation speaks for him.
Power Rangers: 8 Best Gold Rangers, Ranked
The Gold Rangers are often the most visually stunning of the Rangers, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the most powerful.
While there aren't many Gold Rangers, the few who wear the colors have helped make the position iconic. Besides being the flashiest Rangers, the Gold are often the best in any respective series, but they often get some kind of set to level the playing field for the existing team.
