Become a pirate king in a piece Including Luffy is a big undertaking for any aspirant at sea. Simply proclaiming that they want to take Gol de Roger's old title won't do wonders, especially if they lack the power, resources and influence to be recognized as a worthy contender.
One Piece: The 7 arcs that follow Elbaf
Elbaf is great, but even bigger arcs are coming in one piece after it.
While many fans are ready to meet the next pirate king a pieceEiichiro Oda is not yet ready to introduce another in line. Luffy is the leading candidate to be the recipient of such an esteemed title, but there are a few Characters in one piece who can still become the Pirate King instead of Luffy Before the story reaches its grand finale.
Buggy
Buggy is very hard to take seriously a pieceMostly because of his hilarious actions, laziness, and never-ending luck that have taken him to incredible heights. It's almost like it's destined for greatness from the start, much like Monkey D. Like Luffy himself, he received many opportunities to rise in rank, despite rarely earning from his efforts.
All this doesn't stop fans from rooting for Buggy, as the resident clown a piece Luffy is a prime candidate to be the next Pirate King instead. He may not have super powerful Devil Fruit powers, but his ridiculous luck, pride, and talent for stumbling upon success along with the number of people who support him make him a legitimate contender for the throne of Gol de Roger.
Black right
For those with big dreams like Luffy and Blackbeard, no island is too dangerous to conquer, and no enemy is too powerful to conquer as long as they continue to follow their dreams without fear. Their dreams only end when they die, so no matter how difficult the journey, there is no stopping these two characters from realizing their ambitions.
While Blackbeard's ultimate goal is unclear, he undoubtedly has the qualities necessary to capture the title of Pirate King before anyone else does. With two devil fruit powers, a powerful pirate crew, and on top of being a weapon and observant hockey user, Blackbeard has the power and influence to overcome the impossible by claiming the recognition of the loving pirate king that many, including Luffy, have long associated with his name.
Shanks
looking for a piece Now in the series Red-Haired Shanks is part of the bucket list, technically making him Luffy's toughest competitor. In fact, Shanks and his team are now on the move, hoping to grab the treasure before anyone else does. This has clearly become one of their top priorities, and it seems that Shanks will no longer hold back in his quest for legendary treasure.
From the beginning, Shanks has always been a mysterious figure in the series. Even the authorities refuse to mess with him, and such powerful characters as Whitebeard and Mihawk acknowledge his monstrous abilities. Although he has a face fit for a powerful pirate, when he wants to do something, nothing and no one can stop him.

Usopp
The brave warrior who hails from Syrup Village, Usopp, receives nominations from fans as Luffy's rival to become the next Pirate King. While Usopp doesn't have the power that Luffy and all the other characters mentioned on this list have, his bravery, unwavering determination, and ambitious dreams prove that even the weakest can become icons.
The best thing about Usopp is that he never fails to hype himself up, constantly comparing himself to Luffy and others, determined to show that even a sniper from a small island can keep up the big shots. While he doesn't have the same ambitions as Luffy, that doesn't mean he's out of the cut to become a true Pirate King contender.
Eustass the child
It's a shame how Eustass Kid went from defeating Big Mom in Wano to experiencing a miserable defeat by Shanks on the coast of Elbaf. As a result, Kidd's status remains unconfirmed, whether he is dead or alive, but given Oda's habit of faking deaths, it is highly likely that Kidd survived Shanks' divine departure even though he left the area in ruins.
On that note, those who still believe the kid is alive continue to hope he'll get back on track and make it into the race to become the next Pirate King. Although he loses to Shanks, he becomes a powerful pirate who can use three types of Haki. His ability alone suggests that his return to the series is not impossible.
the crocodile
Who will ever forget the crocodile and his plans in Alabasta? Sandman himself once dreamed of becoming the next Pirate King, but his defeat at the hands of Whitebeard and Luffy knocked some sense out of him, resulting in his decision to temper his ambitions and choose a more subtle and stable path to power.
However, Crocodile is still the charismatic man he's always been, so running for the Pirate King title seems like a challenge he can embrace again, especially now that Buggy has revealed his intentions to stake his claim as well.
