Xbox Game Pass adds day-one games with parkour, drama, and stealth

Sci-fi adventure Aphelion Available now at Xbox Game PassAdding two layers of it on the first day. It arrives in April 2026 as the 13th new title added to the service and the 67th new Xbox Game Pass release of the year.

Aphelion Don't Nod is the latest title from the French studio best known for its story-driven games Life is strange and Jusant. Revealed during the Xbox Game Showcase in June 2025, the game follows European Space Agency astronauts Ariane Montclair and Thomas Cross after their crash landing isolates them on Persephone, an icy planet they are trying to survey as a possible new home for humanity. Aphelion It therefore offers Don't Nod's signature focus on character drama, but combines it with a more physical survival framework: Ariane's segments emphasize parkour-style traversal and alien planet exploration, while Thomas's wounded perspective focuses on observation and investigation. This structure is further complicated by stealth sequences built around avoiding hostile life forms, giving the overall package an unusual combination of cinematic parkour, relationship-driven sci-fi drama, and tense survival gameplay.

Aphelion Bolsters Xbox Game Pass Sci-Fi Library

As previously announced, Aphelion joined Xbox Game Pass on April 28, debuting as the sixth day-one arrival to hit the service since the beginning of the month. It's currently limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, which is a common restriction for brand-new titles. Based on Don't Node's track record on Microsoft's subscription service, XGP can be seen by Premium Tier subscribers. Aphelion Join their library as of Winter 2026.

The cinematic action adventure marks the third Don't Know title to join Microsoft's service in the last six months. The Lost Record: Bloom and Fury and Banishers: Ghosts of a New EdenBoth of which are still available to members. Not only does it bolster the Xbox Game Pass sci-fi catalog, but it does so in a unique way with a story crafted by a French studio in collaboration with the European Space Agency. Persephone itself reflects that approach: the fictional ice world is framed as the newly discovered ninth planet in the solar system, directly echoing the real-world hypothesis that such a body might still be lurking in its outer reaches.

Considering it's the end of the current month, an unusually large number of titles are still scheduled to arrive on Xbox Game Pass in April 2026. Five of them remain on the calendar: Trepang2, Sledding game, Heroes of Might and Magic: The Old Age, Teratech Armyand Inkonbini. Trepang2 Currently only one is set for April 29, while the other four are scheduled to follow on the 30th.
