After the official announcement Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes Chapter 33, by Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto, series creators, has officially started a new arc with Mamushi's death. In doing so, the two have also brought back one of the most important characters pushed to the sidelines since the appearance of Shinju – Code.
Despite being incredibly powerful, the code has often been outsmarted and beaten by various characters in the Boruto series thus far. Still, he quietly continues to upgrade his overall arsenal, and the end of chapter 33 of the TBV manga finally brings him back, setting him up for a big moment. The new arc starts on May 20, 2026.
The Boruto author finally sets up the code for the new power-up
Code was originally a member of Kara and served as one of the insiders. He has always been incredibly strong, especially after having his body worked on by Amado, but his true strength lies in the White Karma he received from Isshiki Otsutsuki. Technically, he wanted to be a vessel for Isshiki, but failed to do so. However, through the White Karma he received from the latter, he gained great power without becoming a vessel for Otsutsuki. Despite that, the code was often put on the losing end by creator Mikio Ikemoto.

in Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes In Chapter 5, author Mikio Ikemoto confirmed that Code Sasuke was seriously injured despite gaining great power. Similarly, in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 3, Boruto Uzumaki easily defeats the Code with his Rasengan: Uzuhiko, and then, in Chapter 4, even Shinju manages to defeat him despite being their creator. That said, the creators of the Boruto series are setting him up as Boruto's last thing, for Boruto's last thing. Chapter 33.
Immediately after Boruto obtains Kod's Thorn Soul Bulb, he decides to go to the bug and free it from the tree. Little does Boruto know that Kod has marked the tree with his claw marks and is waiting for the young Uzumaki to appear with the Thorn Soul Bulb. The moment he does so, Cod wants to steal and consume the bulb, forcing his own evolution that will make him extremely powerful.

The first evolution of Code Two Blue Vortex is coming in Chapter 34
At this point, Kod's goal is to consume the Thorn Soul Bulb that Boruto Uzumaki is bringing with him. According to the official release Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes Development for Chapter 33, Code, is now on the cards. The next Boruto chapter, which is scheduled to be released on Manga Plus on May 20, 2026, may see Code finally consuming the Thorn Soul Bulb of Bug and growing stronger. Considering that Mamushi's main ability is to be able to split himself, Kod will then gain this power, and if he were to consume it, this alone would make him one of the most dangerous people in the entire series.

Kin Code's character arc will see him become the perfect antagonist
Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto set up the code for a perfect character arc. Analyzing Koda's entire story up to this point, it is clear to us that he is a man who constantly desires greater power to meet the expectations of Isshiki Otsutsuki. Unable to serve as his vessel, Samhita takes it upon herself to fulfill his wishes. As such, he wants to develop as much as possible and live up to the words that Isshiki Otsutsuki spoke to him. An assessment of Cod's character beyond the surface level also tells us that he is a man who thrives on loss. Code is not the typical anime overpowered villain who rises to the pinnacle of power, forcing the hero to grow. Instead, he is a person who grows with the protagonist and has his own motivations.

Code strengthened after Amado removed his limiters, but even that wasn't enough. Now that Boruto Uzumaki, Kawaki, and Shinju have surpassed him, Kod must find ways to grow on his own, and he just does so by finalizing his plan to consume the Thorn Soul Bulb in the next chapter of the manga.
As such, Code is a dynamic antagonist who we feel serves as the other face of the protagonist, Boruto Uzumaki. His development in terms of power is similar to that of the protagonists, making him unique among anime antagonists. Despite being incompetent for the longest time, the code is slowly approaching its own version of perfection. By consuming the Thorn Soul Bulb and gaining Mamushi's power, Koda is one step closer to having the last laugh, after his previous defeats against Boruto Uzumaki and Shinju. Slowly but steadily, Code is being set up to be an incredible villain for Boruto's upcoming arcs: the two blue vortexes.
