Reawakening after a 9-month hiatus, and I apparently quit too soon

When I started Tibba: Awakening 9 months ago, I honestly didn't know if I would enjoy what I was getting myself into. Except sometimes Fate 2 romp, I left MMOs behind years ago, after life's development I couldn't sustain long gameplay sessions the genre requires if you hope to make any progress before server wipes and massive updates reverse all your progress or force you into a painful FOMO loop. All I was really going into Tibba: Awakening There was a deep affection for the franchise, and a love for survival crafting games, both of which were enough to convince me to at least give it a try. When it came out, I fell head over heels for the MMO, and it's still one of my most memorable gaming experiences.

The thing is, it only held my attention for two months before I gave it up. I know it might be hypocritical of me to call this live-service game one of my most memorable gaming experiences, and yet I didn't last all that long. However, it's worth mentioning that I played it as a single-player game rather than an MMO, because I could progress at my own pace that way, and it made everything more immersive. But this is exactly why, and Tibba: AwakeningThe lack of any kind of end game for single players, that it gave me little reason to sit down after reaching a certain point. Yet, here I am, answering an inner call to get back into the game after a 9-month hiatus, and finding out what I've been missing all too soon.

I won't lie, back in Tibba: Awakening Very disappointing after 9 months. After reinstalling the game, compiling the shaders, and finally logging in, I discovered that the base I had spent dozens of hours building was gone, including every vehicle I owned and storage boxes containing valuable crafting materials and other items. I admit, I knew it would happen, basically Tibba: Awakening It eroded over time, but part of me didn't want to admit it. I stood there for a minute, stunned, staring in disbelief at my glorious creation on another player's base in the same spot.

Still, it took me almost no time to find my level again, and Funcom was kind enough to give me a welcome-back package based on my level and progress in the research menu. That alone helped lift my spirits to the point that I felt I could step on. Tibba: Awakening's Arrakis once again. But my biggest motivation for choosing to brave the unforgiving sands of the desert once again was all the changes the MMO has undergone in the past 9 months, as I now feel like I have a reason to stay longer than ever.

Tibba Jagran Roadmap More Questions Than Answers

Tibba: AwakeningThe main Chapter 2 update was the first thing I noticed after I left the game in August 2025 and launched Chapter 2 in mid-September, and I barely missed it. As I understand it, Chapter 2 continued the main story, added new locations and characters, included new contracts and encounters, brought character re-customization, and added new archetype armors. There were also quality of life improvements added Tibba: Awakening In Chapter 2, including auto-run, more Assault Ornithopter storage, improved server stability and anti-cheat, vehicle and combat tweaks, Deep Desert layout changes, UI improvements, and the ability to change your appearance in social hubs.

However, this is only the beginning. The game's Chapter 3 update was apparently the real “I left early” moment, as it changed radically. Tibba: AwakeningThe last game of Finally, it saw a mission-oriented Landsrad, new ways to support factions and earn rewards, specialization and enhancement systems, ten new overland map locations, five repeatable test stations, scalable boss encounters, new loot, and the continuation of the main story. It added a welcome back care package specifically for players who have been out for more than 28 days, which shows Funcom's self-awareness. Tibba: Awakening Saw a decline in its active players, me being one of them.

Tibba: Awakening changes that affect me the most

But since I returned to August 2025, the MMO made for survival has been improved in a variety of ways, some of which really change the game for me and make me want to return to it with all the enthusiasm it once had. As a player who doesn't want to engage in PvP, even though I know this is ultimately meant to be a PvP-oriented experience, I want more from the PvE side. Tibba: AwakeningThe endgame didn't deliver on my somewhat short tenure. Well, that has finally changed.

As of a few weeks ago – on April 28, 2026, to be exact –Tibba: Awakening Introduced PvE and PvP Deep Desert instances, all official worlds now have at least one PvE and PvP Deep Desert instance. This is something that players like myself have been requesting since launch, primarily Tibba: Awakening Provides a degree of immersion that, yes, can be experienced when engaging in duels with other players, but is nonetheless just as valuable when things are purely PvE. In fact, the end game of PvP Tibba: Awakening This is why I and many other players quit the game altogether, so it's nice to see this change.

According to SteamDB, Tibba: AwakeningIts player count has steadily declined since its June 2025 launch, with its all-time peak of 189,333 players now down to a 24-hour peak of just 9,385 players at the time of writing.

Other changes that really convinced me that I'll be spending more time in the game revolve around base building and management – one of my favorite pastimes. Tibba: Awakening. The base rebuild tool, which allows players to save a blueprint of their base and then rebuild it anywhere, was implemented in December 2025, a few months after I left. If I had accessed it earlier, I wouldn't have been so surprised by its removal when I logged back in 9 months after my departure.

And to make that aspect Tibba: AwakeningTo make survival gameplay even more accessible, Funcom removed the tax from the game earlier this year. Prior to that update, failure to pay taxes could eventually result in your Aadhaar shield being off, making the Aadhaar vulnerable to erosion, destruction and looting. More than likely, this was the developer's way of keeping the servers clean, and thus more stable, as those bases are likely players who would have left the game anyway.

It doesn't mean anything Tibba: Awakening Suddenly Something is in perfect condition, and its current player count certainly suggests that there is still work to be done if Funcom hopes to bring back the large audience it saw at launch. Still, going back now feels a lot less punishing than I expected. Losing my base and vehicles after so long was a harsh re-introduction to Arrakis, but everything around that loss feels friendlier than ever. The welcome-back package, base rebuilding tool, tax removal, and push towards PvE all make it. Tibba: Awakening Feel like a game that understands why players left and now tries to give them good reasons to stay and come back.

That's what finally came back nine months later, which is amazing. I never went back to a game I left behind, and while I clearly missed some major steps along the way, it's pretty easy to settle into the version that awaits me. Tibba: Awakening There's still a lot of sand to clear from its machinery, but its path forward no longer feels hostile to players like me. For a survival MMO built around one of the harshest worlds in the story, that might be one of the most significant changes Funcom could make.
