the time really It flies when you don't get any updates about a game, because it's been a year around the sun since we last got a good look at Kingdom Hearts 4.
If you're a Kingdom Hearts fan, then I don't need to remind you how dry the last few years have been. 2022 has made the future of the series incredibly exciting with the reveal of Kingdom Hearts 4 and the Missing Link, but it's been pretty downhill since Square Enix promised “magic in the making.”
Not only was Missing Link canceled after several delays and a ton of hype about what it would do for Kingdom Hearts' story, but we haven't heard anything about KH4. The biggest update we've gotten to the game in over four years was a select few screenshots that Square Enix released to appease the community, which was released a full year ago today.
Kingdom Hearts 4's last major update was over a year ago
365 days is nothing but an anniversary post to tide us over
As pointed out by Twitter user thegamersjoint , today, May 15, marks exactly one year since Square Enix decided to drop seven (har har) screenshots of Kingdom Hearts 4 on its Twitter page. For those who don't remember, those screenshots show a battle between Sora and Heartless, confirmation that Mickey is playable, and an update on Sora and Strelitzia.

Don't worry, Square Enix hasn't forgotten about Kingdom Hearts
I'm not coping, I'm just getting a new high score.
Although these screenshots didn't show anything new in Kingdom Hearts 4, it was like an ocean considering the drought we've been in. While some accused the screenshots of being just damage control to cancel the missing link, they were much appreciated.
And now, 365 days later, that's still the last time we've gotten any sort of solid update on Kingdom Hearts 4, as no new trailers or screenshots have been shown in that time. It's “the time is right” despite the post promising more information, which you'd think had happened all year.
It's not all bad news, though, as Nomura recently promised that not only is development progressing smoothly, but that the news is coming next year for the series' 25th anniversary. Today is a slightly depressing reminder of how long it's been since Kingdom Hearts 4 last received an update, we can all remain hopeful that will change soon.

The Beethoven and the Dinosaur mixtape is on fire because critics and players are really enjoying it. Yes, I'm serious.
