In the second story, Antoine Martínez, who was a devoted family man before becoming a national healer, sees his world shattered when his daughter is diagnosed with a terminal illness. A doting husband and father, Antoine's world comes crashing down when he has to take his daughter to the hospital, only for their car to collide with an 18-wheeler on the way. At this moment, Antoine awakens as a hunter, using his newfound powers to take his wife and daughter to the hospital on foot. Although Antoine's wife survives the crash, his daughter dies. He later discovers her diary, where she describes her father as someone strong enough to protect everyone around her, and those words become her driving force. Antoine, in that heartbreaking moment, vows to save others in memory of his daughter, becoming a powerful healer and hunter.

Myro and Antoine's backstories are rivaled by Jinwu, who was brutally murdered in a dungeon raid before inheriting his extraordinary powers. Like Myro and Antoine, Jinwu gained his powers after a dungeon raid gone wrong. He was brutally killed in the attack and inherited his powers at a deep personal cost.
Single Level: Ragnarok It is implied that most Monarch successors are personally chosen by their predecessors, although the identity of the Demon Monarch's successor has long remained a mystery.
