The first Saints Row game was an Xbox exclusive, but THQ helped CD Projekt Red's localization team bring the sequel to PC – it was a disaster. Broken cutscenes, characters not appearing, audio bugs, resolution issues, the list goes on. It wasn't exactly unplayable, but it took a lot of effort to see the shining gem beneath all the muck piled on top. And yet the reward for sticking with it was missing in console-exclusive DLC.
In 2019, Volition announced that it had found the missing source code and began updating the game to run more smoothly on modern systems, replacing the defunct GameSpy multiplayer with Steam matchmaking, as well as the missing Ultor Exposed and Corporate Warfare DLC, led by community manager Mike' Watsonin'I. Unfortunately he passed away from cancer in 2021, but knowing his condition and his limited time, planned ahead to ensure the work would continue without him. Then the will stopped.
In so many words, the Saints Row 2 PC port has been dragged to the tarmac like Carlos (rest in peace), but thankfully, fans have come to the rescue. The modding team behind the Juiced patch, another hugely ambitious project that aims to fix the porting house mess, is bringing all three console-exclusive DLC packs to PC after 17 years. They're focused on single-player content right now, but multiplayer maps “may come at a later date.”
Dex missions, new clothing, and an extended epilogue
Those expansions are the Unkut Pack, Corporate Warfare, and Ultor Exposed, which bring a wealth of new cosmetic options, a new mission featuring Dex, and an extended epilogue. You can download the mod here: all it needs is the latest version of the Juiced patch and a clean save.
Watson Embracer closed the studio in 2023, but the community picked up the pieces and finally, almost two decades later, the Saints Row 2 PC port is taking shape.
