Most humans in My Hero Academia possess some type of Quirk, but only a handful of individuals have been able to awaken their Quirks. Awakened Quirks are significantly stronger, often remove existing limitations, and unlock applications that were not previously possible. Based on these factors, certain Quirks would become fundamentally broken after going through an awakening.
Many of these Quirks can destroy a city or take out a small army with their awakened power. One awakened Quirk would be so broken that its user could potentially become an invincible powerhouse. In another case, an awakened Quirk could permanently alter a country’s geography and climate. Other Quirks would not be as powerful, but they would still be broken in their own way.

My Hero Academia: 9 Overpowered Quirks That Can Destroy Cities
While My Hero Academia features countless dangerous quirks, some of the most OP abilities can level entire cities with their destructive power.

Overclock
- Users: Iwao Oguro, Number 6
Overclock is easily one of the best new Quirks introduced in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and if it were to awaken, it would be almost impossible to stop the user. It is a speed-based Quirk which gives someone the ability to accelerate to supersonic speed. As a result, everything around the user appears to be frozen in time. The user can take down multiple armed opponents in the blink of an eye, and they can land a flurry of speed-enhanced blows to defeat a single person before they can react.
The user would be able to critically injure a dozen Villains or Pro Heroes at once and escape before anyone noticed they were ever there. Overclock does have some weaknesses involving oxygen deprivation and concentration, but a Quirk awakening would likely nullify those weaknesses, and the user would ideally be able to use Overclock for more than a few seconds.

Compress
Mr. Compress may not be one of MHA‘s best-written Villains, but he wields a very effective Quirk. Compress can shrink anything within a spherical area into a marble without damaging it. When used on a person, Compress traps them inside a marble, which makes kidnapping targets or capturing Villains a lot easier. If needed, the user can permanently maim an opponent by compressing specific body parts.
If Compress awakens, the size of the spherical area of effect will significantly increase to the point that the user can turn an entire building into a marble. The user would probably be able to turn multiple people into marbles as well. To give an idea of how useful this would be, if Compress had been awakened during the Paranormal Liberation War, Mr. Compress could have turned most of the invading Heroes into marbles and held them all hostage since the user is the only person who can undo the marble transformation.

These My Hero Academia villains knew that Hero Society was bad all along.

Black Hole
Not only is Thirteen’s Black Hole Quirk one of the most dangerous and destructive Quirks in the series, it is also one of the best rescue Quirks. This Emitter Quirk allows Thirteen to create black holes with her fingers. The pull is so strong that even light cannot escape it, which makes it perfect for clearing debris and slowing down Villains.
Anything that gets sucked into the black holes gets disintegrated at an atomic level, meaning it can easily kill living beings. The user needs to be very careful because they are not immune to the pull either. If Black Hole were to awaken, the size and scope of the black holes should increase to the point that entire cities and armies could be sucked in and disintegrated in minutes. Best of all, the awakening should make the user immune to the pull.

Permeation
Permeation is one of the strongest Pro Hero Quirks in My Hero Academia, and it is a major reason why Comedy Hero: Lemillion became Japan’s No. 1 Hero after the Final War. The user can phase their body through all forms of physical matter. This power is very useful in fights because enemy attacks simply phase through the user’s body. According to All For One, however, this intangibility does not work on surprise attacks.
If the user deactivates Permeation while they are phasing through the ground or other solid objects, they will instantly be repelled to the surface. When timed properly, the user can unleash a high-speed barrage that is very difficult to dodge. Permeation requires a lot of concentration because the user can get trapped or fall through the Earth. If Permeation awakens, the concentration aspect may no longer be an issue, and the user’s senses could improve to the point that surprise attacks no longer work. Not only would the user be untouchable, the speed of their attacks would likely skyrocket.

Electrification
Electrification has two major weaknesses, but it is still one of Class 1-A’s best Emitter Quirks. It gives someone the ability to store electricity in their body and discharge it whenever they want. It forms a protective aura around the user, which shocks anyone who touches the user. This often leaves the assailant paralyzed for a short time. With enough stored electricity, the user can knock out well over a dozen people with a single discharge.
The main issues with Electrification is that the user’s brain short-circuits when they release too much electricity. The user cannot aim the electricity at a single target without the help of support items, which means they can shock their allies too. Awakening would not only make Electrification more powerful, and give the user the ability to store more electricity, it should nullify both weaknesses. The user can fire multiple high-voltage lightning bolts without worrying about friendly fire or being left in a vulnerable state.

Rewind
Rewind is the result of an extremely rare mutation, and the argument can be made that it is the most powerful reality altering Quirk in the series. Someone like Eri can reverse another living being to a previous state. Rewind can heal injuries, but it can also bring injuries back. It can even restore someone’s Quirk, but the user could also choose to rewind someone back to a point when they were Quirkless.
The most dangerous aspect of Rewind is the fact that the user can erase someone by rewinding them back to a time when they were not born yet. Rewind is very difficult to control, but awakening it should make things easier. As it currently stands, Rewind’s power depends on the length of a horn on the user’s head, but the horn will likely not shrink anymore once Rewind is used. More importantly an awakened version of Rewind would probably affect multiple people at once, perhaps even the population of an entire city.
3
Half-Cold Half-Hot
Half-Cold Half-Hot is unique because it is one of the strongest fire Quirks as well as one of the strongest ice Quirks. The user can produce ice, frost, and cold from the right side of their body, while the left side generates intense flames and heat. The ice can be used for accelerated movement and immobilization, and the flames can incinerate living beings. By combining both elements, the user can burn and freeze someone at the same time.
Some fans assumed that this cold fire was achieved through Quirk awakening, but that is not the case. In truth, an awakened version of Half-Cold Half-Hot could theoretically destroy an entire city. Depending on the user, Half-Cold Half-Hot could turn large patches of a country into a charred hellscape or frozen wasteland.
2
New Order
Star and Stripe was the No. 1 Pro Hero in the United States and one of My Hero Academia‘s best female characters. All For One feared her because she wielded New Order, an Emitter Quirk which allowed her to bestow new properties onto living and non-living things. New Order requires physical contact and the user must say the object’s name. In doing so, the user can strengthen themselves, create lasers out of thin air, remove oxygen from an area, or weaken someone to the point of death.
New Order has limits though, as the user cannot make themselves invincible or all-powerful, and only two rules could be set at a given time. If New Order were to awaken, the two rule limit would disappear. The other limits and prerequisites would likely follow suit. The scope of New Order would increase as well. There’s a good possibility an awakened New Order Quirk could make the user immune to all forms of damage, while turning their fists into miniature nuclear weapons, while also turning entire cities to mud.

My Hero Academia: The Strongest Pro Heroes Killed By Villains
As strong as these Pro Heroes were, they couldn’t survive their encounters with some of My Hero Academia’s strongest villains.
1
Overhaul
Overhaul can easily be considered the strongest Quirk because it gives someone the power to manipulate matter. The user can disassemble and then reassemble matter, but this ability is limited to their hands. Overhaul can alter the geography of a small area if the user touches the ground, and if the user touches someone for even a second, they can blow their body apart Instantaneously. The user can also absorb others and use their abilities.
An awakened version of Overhaul would be simple, but extremely dangerous. By touching the ground, Overhaul could reduce a city to dust in seconds. It would be similar to Tomura’s empowered Decay, which is one of the most overpowered Quirk awakenings. If an awakened Overhaul were present during the Paranormal Liberation War or Final War, the user could have impaled entire armies or popped all the combatants like balloons.
