For decades, Berserk was considered the gold standard for seinen manga. Kentaro Miura's magnum opus was beautifully drawn, wonderfully written, and took its sweet time to tell a dark, depressing story that still had a glimmer of hope (however faint). As a result of Miura's untimely death in 2021, his longtime friend and fellow mangaka, Kouji Mori took over the series with the help of Studio Gaga, but Berserk Not the same since recently.
Kouji Mori's tenure is over Berserk was defined by rushed pacing, poor dialogue, and art that (still good by all objective measures) is not on par with Miura's own work. If nothing else, it was a necessary compromise to ensure that the story of the manga was still being told. unfortunately, Berserk A new low has been reached with the release of Chapter 385: A chapter: essentially ruining Guts' story arc and every major theme that has been built up for over 30 years goes into disrepute for betraying Miura.

Berserk Figure gets the long-awaited release, preorders are now live
The Good Smile Company has reissued one of its most popular Berserk figures, but fans need to act fast if they want it this time around.
Berserk Chapter 385 The most interesting thing about guts is destroyed
Guts was obviously never normal, but there was nothing in the story to suggest he was anything more than human. Himmat being so freakishly strong and determined is a natural consequence of him being a hero in a fantasy action manga where the main characters need to be strong in order to survive. What made Guts special was the fact that he wasn't special, and was more or less cursed by fate to exist outside of reason.
Berserk Chapter 385 changes that Guts being born from a corpse means that he exists between the realm of the living and the astral world. By all objective measures, it makes absolutely zero sense. If the guts were between the interstices, he'd seen ghosts, demons, and monsters long before he was branded. worse, though, Berserk Now Guts is acting like he's a superhuman destined to defeat Griffith—two people connected by fate rather than the friendship they made and lost during the Golden Age arc.

After 3 years, the best version of Berserk will “continue” in the official update
The best way to experience the Berserk series is finally coming back – but there's a catch.
But, worse than that is the fact Berserk Chapter 385 presents all the consequences in Guts' life up to this point. Courage sacrifices a piece of himself every time he uses the Berserker Armor, and has gradually lost his senses of taste, touch, and sight. This is a major theme that represents the courage to give up one's pieces in order to seek revenge against Griffith. More importantly, it links to recurring motifs Berserk That actions actually have consequences.
Not anymore, unfortunately. After spending some time and learning about his destiny, Guts is randomly healed of almost all wounds. He, at least, still has his injuries from the eclipse, but all the damage he bravely took using the Berserk Armor is gone. Many of his wounds have healed, he has regained his sight, and now has access to superhuman strength even without the Berserker armor. Guts went from the most interesting hero in fantasy to a mediocre anime hero in a single chapter.
Berserk has officially jumped the shark and has no fix
what is happening Berserk It's so embarrassing now. The manga has officially jumped the shark by retconning such a major aspect of Guts' backstory. Kouji Mori claims that Kentaro Miura struggled with this plot development for years, but it's hard to believe that Miura actually wanted it for the guts. Turning Himmat into a functional superhero goes against everything that defines him Berserk Up to this point, both tonally and thematically.
Berserk Clearly now it's setting up the end game, and we're getting to the point of no return in the worst possible way. There's no way to fix Guts and Griffith's mess connected by faith, Guts has magically healed most of his injuries, and the story could have been amazing character development for Guts. That is ultimately the worst part about chapters 384 and 385. The manga sets up this deep dive into Guts' psyche, and instead turns it into a simple power-up opportunity that barely analyzes who Guts really is.
Berserk Miura has been a shell of its old self since his death, but the last two chapters are the strongest evidence that the series should have just ended with chapter 364.
