Trunks is one of the only ones Dragon Ball The characters actually meet one of his variations in different timelines and universes. Future trunks and baby trunks couldn't be more different. The former grew up in a hellish future occupied by androids, while the latter grew up in a life of luxury, raised by both parents. While Kid Trunks softened, Future Trunks evolved into one of the most powerful next-gen Saiyans.
In the multiverse, Future Trunks is regularly punished for interfering Dragon Ball Timeline, resulting in variants all over the place in terms of power levels. The weaker versions of Trunks are not comparable to the most powerful fighters in the majority, but the strongest Trunks are God Tier warriors capable of surpassing even Goku and Vegeta one day.

The main timeline version of Trunks is an absolute joke compared to most versions of him. While he was introduced as a child in the Majin Buu Saga with a lot of potential, Trunks has grown up as a teenager with no real motivation to continue training himself to become stronger. Instead, he just wants to play with Goten to be a superhero. in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, Trunks can't even turn Super Saiyan anymore.
While Trunks is still surprisingly weak Dragon Ball Super In the manga, Toyotaro at least gives Teen Trunks (and Goten) the ability to turn Super Saiyan, giving them a better fight against Cell Max in the manga continuity. Whether it's anime or manga canon, however, Teen Trunks has turned into one of the weakest Saiyans in the series. Considering how powerful his future counterpart would be from training alone, there's no excuse for Tin Trunks to be so weak.

GT Trunks impressed the kid with his power level

Dragon Ball GT Rarely, if ever, gives the spotlight to anyone other than Goku, but Black Star had a brief period in the Dragon Ball and Baby Sagas where Trunks was one of the three main characters in the series. Base Trunks is implied to be around the same level as Goku in his new baby body, but this is quickly debunked as Goku acclimates to his youth, unlocks his transformations again, and then triggers Super Saiyan 4 to become the strongest person in the timeline.
GT Trunks goes out of focus after the Baby Saga and stops receiving major power-ups, but when Baby first tries to capture Trunks, he comments that taking him on will be harder than expected and seems impressed by his power level. GT Trunks eventually becomes one of Baby's many minions before showing up in a few fights here and there in the next two arcs. In terms of strength, GT Trunks is much stronger than his Z-era counterparts, but lacks impressive feats of his own to back up that strength.

Manga Future Trunks

Toyotarou takes a very different approach to Future Trunks' power level than the anime when Goku returns for the Black Saga. Dragon Ball Super Manga. While in the manga Future Trunks has mastered Super Saiyan 2 to the point of rivaling Super Saiyan 3 Goku (if not slightly stronger), he never grows much more powerful than this. Instead, Manga Future Trunks is relegated to a supporting role as the team's healer.
As Manga Future Trunks becomes Supreme Kai's apprentice, he gains Kai abilities including healing. Manga Trunks uses his healing powers to save Mai and Gowasu's lives, while giving Goku enough energy to tap into Completed Super Saiyan Blue – a form that makes him strong enough to nearly wipe out the Hakai-fused Zamasu. Manga Future Trunks is definitely powerful, but he can't talk to God Ki.

Anime Future Trunks gets his own demi-god form

The fact that the manga Future Trunks duked it out with God Ki as anyone could be because Toei gave the anime Future Trunks access to their own version of God. Dragon Ball Super. In the anime's Goku Black Saga, Future Trunks finishes training with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta before his final battle with Goku Black and Zamasu. Doing so allows Trunks to absorb some of the vegetable's residual God Ki.
This God Ki eventually comes out when the anime Future Trunks experiences a rage boost while fighting Fused Zamasu, unlocking Super Saiyan Rage in the process. Super Saiyan Rage is a version of Super Saiyan Blue that gives Anime Future Trunks enough of a speed boost to withstand all of Zamasu's attacks and clean him in two. Fused Zamasu is immortal, so he can't actually die, but the fact anime Future Trunks had enough power to cut him in half speaks to how strong he is.

CC Future Trunks is only a weaker CC Saiyan than his Xeno counterpart

CC Saiyans come from Capsule Corporation's timeline, a version of Dragon Ball A multiverse where the main characters experienced the original Dragon Ball anime, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super anime, almost every DBZ Movies, and Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Unfortunately, since CC Trunks comes from an alternate timeline within the CC timeline, he doesn't get the added bonus of living so many lives. Dragon Ball history
CC comes from a version of Future Trunks Dragon Ball Super Timeline where, after being sent to live with alternate versions of himself in Mai in another timeline, Trunks is kidnapped and imprisoned by Fu. Super Dragon Ball Heroes' Prison Planet. Like other CC Saiyans, CC Trunks is quite powerful, but he is the only alternate CC Saiyan weaker than his Xeno version. That said, CC Trunks is much stronger than the anime and manga Future Trunks, able to use Super Saiyan Rage whenever he wants and can give Fu – one of the most powerful monsters. in Dragon Ball XenoverseXeno Trunks is actually strong enough to fight Beerus, something that no other version of Trunks would be able to accomplish. in Super Dragon Ball HeroesXeno Trunks also goes on to unlock the Super Saiyan God and help Chronoa defeat the Dark King Mechikabura once and for all. Complete with his legendary Key Sword, Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks is one of the most powerful Saiyans in the Multiverse.
