At Anime Expo on July 3, 2026, Single leveling The studio, A-1 Pictures got its biggest update in a year when it officially announced the next big step for the franchise in the form of a brand new movie titled 'Solo Leveling: Beyond the System'. While some fans believed the next project would be a third TV anime season, A-1 Pictures is going in the direction of a theatrical release instead.
Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is, currently, planned for a 2027 release, which means we may have at least a year to wait. To keep Cha Hye-in's excitement high, her sparring with Jinwoo's shadow is seen, giving us our first look at the movie, as we know these shots take place right before the Double Dungeon arc, which is the main focus of the film based on the name and what we've seen so far. We can't wait for this movie to finally hit theaters after so much build up and excitement.
Resurfaced Cha Hae-in Sketches From Solo Leveling Offer Official First Look At Ahjin Guild Arc From 2023: Beyond The System Movie
Solo leveling The anime debuted in 2024, thanks to the immense effort by A-1 Pictures. Since then, the franchise received one more animated project in the form of Solo Leveling Season 2, which was officially released a year ago in January 2025. After the conclusion of the second season, fans have been wondering what's next for the franchise. Fortunately, Anime Expo 2026 answered all our questions. On July 4, 2026, A-1 Pictures finally unveiled the next installment in the Solo Leveling franchise as 'Solo Leveling: Beyond the System'. Beyond the System is a theatrical release, and so far, we've seen key visuals, as well as a stunning concept teaser trailer, which also dropped on July 4, 2026.
While this may be true for the officially confirmed content included in the movie, we were secretly sneaked in more content 3 years ago, 2023. In 2023, Single leveling Season 1 was still in pre-production, but a revived sketch focusing on South Korea's powerful S-Rank Hunter, Cha Hae-In, was unveiled, and it likely comes straight from the upcoming movie.
In these revival sketches from Single leveling Production team, we especially see Cha Hae In in a fight. For fans who don't read the manhwa, this might not matter too much. However, these sketches correspond perfectly with Solo Leveling Manhwa chapters 113 and 114, which cover his training with Jinwu against his two shadows, Igris and Beru. In these two chapters, Cha Hae In wants to be strong, especially after what she experienced during Jeju Island, where she was too weak to stop Ant. His spar with Igris is brief, but what catches everyone's eye is his training battle against the Ant King's Shadow Beru. Cha is good at first, but Beru easily overpowers him and, in fact, almost kills him. In the end, Beru had to be stopped by Jinwoo.
“Are you sure this black knight is your strongest? You will summon your strongest soldiers for me. So summon them here. I want a rematch anyway.” — Cha He in solo leveling in chapter 113
For context, this training match takes place a bit earlier in the double dungeon arc, Ahjin Arc, which we already know will be covered in the theatrical movie, making it an early glimpse of what's to come.
Solo Leveling: Beyond the System will cover the Ahjin Guild arc and the Double Dungeon arc
At this time, we have very limited information Single Level: Beyond the System. With only a title and only Jinwoo's main visual feature, along with a small concept trailer that doesn't give away the main plot points, we don't know what to expect from the movie. However, Crunchyroll officially confirmed in their announcement on July 4, 2026 that the upcoming movie will be a continuation of the story after the events of the Jeju Island arc, and will pick up things from season 2 of the TV anime. In other words, the Ahjin Guild Arc is next, the arc that every solo leveling fan has been eagerly waiting for, the Double Dungeon Arc, which covers chapters 122-133 in the solo leveling manhwa.
The first arc to be witnessed in the movie will be the Ahijin Guild arc, and it will adapt the content from chapters 111 to 122. The Ahjin Guild arc may not be the most popular in the story, but it's still incredibly exciting, as it sees Beru himself clear the A-rank gate. In this arc, Jinwu will also acquire a new shadow among the Nagas, Zima.
The highly anticipated Double Dungeon arc will immediately follow, and will see Jinwoo face his biggest challenge yet. Jinwoo will return to where it all began and where he first acquired the system – Kartenan Temple. There, he will face the Architect and also lose his shadow army for a while. The fact that Jinwoo loses his powers for a while makes this more than a crux of the movie. The title, “Outside the System,” is a clear hint at that. In the double dungeon, Jinwoo must hold his hand without his powers.
Cha Hae-in's role in the new solo leveling movie
It's definitely exciting to get a glimpse at Cha Hae-In a few years before the movie's premiere, and it gives us an idea of what to expect from her. That said, Cha Hae-in is an important character, no one will be able to surpass Jinwoo in solo leveling.
“My king gave me an order. To defeat my enemy without harming him. I will show him how strong I am and make him lose his will to fight. A simple task indeed.” – In Beru single leveling chapter 114
Regardless, Cha will still stand out in some ways in the upcoming movie. She will train with Igris and Beru, but she will try to join the Ahjin Guild. She will help Jinwu in the Double Dungeon Arc and try to fight against the Architect and his idols. Her romance with Jinwoo is only going to blossom going forward, and we can't wait to see it.
The first two seasons of the Solo Leveling TV anime by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures are currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
