Moving on to the previously teased disc-to-digital feature Xbox consoles soon, according to a social media post from an Xbox insider. Considering the possibility that the next-gen Xbox console will not have a disc drive, the disc-to-digital conversion feature will give players a possible way to play supported titles on the upcoming system.
Rumors of the Xbox's disc-to-digital conversion method first surfaced on July 1. The license is transferable if the disc is loaned or sold to another Xbox user, making it possible to buy, sell, and trade Xbox titles. However, this feature will only work with Xbox One and Xbox Series X game discs, meaning Xbox 360 and Xbox titles are not supported.

Xbox's Project Helix console may not have a disc drive, preventing disc-based Xbox titles from playing on the new system. However, according to Windows Central editor and Xbox insider Jez Corden, the disc-conversion method could be coming in the coming days. Corden reposted a July 9 message from Xbox Insider program head Brad Rossetti stating that Xbox Insider flights were suspended for the first full week of July. Rossetti said the pause was to give Xbox Insider's development team time to prepare for something that could be coming the week of July 16. Rossetti said the next flight will be worth the wait.
