Jujutsu KaisenBy Gege Akutami, the story focuses on the battle against sorcerers and their cursed spirits, born from negative energy, known as cursed energy and curse users. in the world of Jujutsu KaisenThere are many talented magicians who can harness cursed energy and use it in advanced ways, such as manifesting domains, using RCT, and more.
Over the years, the use of cursed energy has evolved greatly, and we saw it at its peak in the Shinjuku Showdown arc of the story. However, 68 years later, Cursed Energy is officially no more, thanks to the sequel Jujutsu Kaisenwas called Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo. At the end of the new series by Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki, we're shockingly faced with the extinction of all cursed technologies, including Gojo's iconic ability known as infinite. Limitless stood out as an Inherited Cursed Technique belonging to some members of the Gozo Clan, and it granted immense power, as demonstrated several times in the series. Now, the cursed technology is dead, and it is impossible for any new user to appear after the cursed energy is removed from the humans in Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen officially ends with the Unlimited Cursed Technique removing cursed energy forever
When it comes to action, not many series do it quite like Gege Akutami Jujutsu KaisenJune debuted in Weekly Shōnen Jump issue #14 on March 5, 2018. of Jujutsu Kaisen The action stands out especially because of Curse Energy's amazingly built power system. This power system was seen for the first time JJK Chapter 1, and we immediately got a proper look at what it was capable of when Gage gave us a proper look at Limitless. Limitless debuted as one of the most iconic and overpowered Jujutsu Kaisen abilities in Chapter 2 released in Shuisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #15 on March 12, 2018. Unfortunately, this superpower has disappeared due to Modulo's machinations.
The power of Limitless allows Gojo to control the concept of infinity by manipulating space. When his Infinity is deployed, even normal attacks cannot reach him. Using laps of this technique, he can also manifest a blue, orb with the power of attraction. He can also use a reversal of a technique called Raid, a repelling sphere with twice the power. These two infinities can also be combined to create Violet, an ability that erases existence.
While this ability was at its strongest, Gozo died in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236, which was released in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump issue #43 in September 2023, and the technique disappeared with him. Since Gozo's death, fans have been expecting a new Unlimited Experiment to debut with Modulo. 68 years had passed, it was entirely possible for a new user of this power to exist. Unfortunately, through the run of Modulo, no new unlimited users were revealed.
The worst thing is that it ends modulo Limitless makes it impossible for new users to be born. That's because, in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Yuji Itadori, decided to remove humanity's cursed energy. With this act, he basically made it impossible for any future magician to be born with unlimited technology, as that would require being born with cursed energy. This has officially ended the run of Limitless, which once stood as the greatest ability of all time.
Yuta Okkotsu emerged as the last user of Limitless in Jujutsu Kaisen
Technically, while Gozo was the last character to be born with unlimited technology, he wasn't the last character to use it. After Gozo's death in the Shinjuku Showdown battle in Chapter 236, Yuta Okkotsu took over his body and thus gained unlimited access to the Six Eyes. Yuta, after killing Kenzaku, gained access to his brain-hopping technique, which allowed him to brain-hop inside Gozo's body for a limited time after his subsequent defeat and death. When using it in the fight against Tsukuna, Yuta showed great control over it, though not as good as Gozo.
At the end of JJK, Yuta returned to his original body; However, since the cursed techniques are imprinted on the right prefrontal cortex of the brain, there is strong evidence that Yuta transferred the techniques back to his original body. That said, during the Modulo era, Yuta Okkotsu died of a heart attack after Maki's death. With him, unlimited technology died once and for all. If there is a new sequel between the original JJK and Modulo, fans would love to see Yuta back in action, and maybe use Limitless as a way to overcome his lack of 6 eyes.
Why six eyes can still exist without limit
Limitless is definitely gone from the Jujutsu Kaisen legend, as are all the other cursed techniques in the world. Unless Gege Akutami finds a way around Yuji's actions that drained the cursed energy from humans, none of the technology will be brought back. But that doesn't mean all abilities simply disappear. While limitless it may be, there's no reason to miss out on its sister-proven ability from the Gozo clan. Unlike Limitless, Six Eyes is not technically a cursed technique but a trait a person is born with. Because of this, one does not technically need to have a large amount of curse energy, or any curse energy at all, to manifest this power. Humans still have a minimal amount of cursed energy within them, likely to remain Six Eyes.
The power of the six eyes allows one to see everything around them, including cursed energy, in exquisite detail. The user can study the flow of curse energy to an extreme degree. In that sense, anyone connected to the Gozo Clan could be born with this trait in the future. In the Modulo era, no user of Six Eyes was introduced to us, although we did see several members of the Gozo Clan. This means that this capability is yet to be seen, but it could return in the future. On its own, six eyes may sound like something without limit, but that's not necessarily true. Being born with only unlimited but six eyes will be a major problem, because the latter cannot control it without symptoms. However, one can certainly use the full extent of the six eyes without limit. Six eyes allow for superior perception, and for someone without cursed technology, it would be even more useful. We can only hope Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki return with a new Jujutsu Kaisen project, especially since Modulo was too short for our liking. Modulo's editor hinted at a possible new project, but for now, there is nothing confirmed or official on the way.
All chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo by Gege Akutami are available for fans to read through Manga Plus and Viz Media.
