PlayStation 5 Gamers have a lot of notable new games to play in the near future as at least 10 big games are set to launch in August. At the time of this writing the PlayStation 5 is the main home console, and as such, it is treated to almost every major third-party release. Third-party releases combined with console exclusives ensure that there is always something exciting to play on PS5.
The PS5 already has a very busy 2026, but things are about to ramp up dramatically. Most game developers and publishers are anxious to get their titles out before launch Grand Theft Auto 6 As a result, November, August, September and October are especially busy. As it stands, there are 10 major games releasing for the PS5 in August that fans will definitely want to keep an eye on in the days and weeks ahead.

Marvel Token: Fighting Souls Coming to PS5 in August 2026 is the headlining new game, as it is a console exclusive for the platform. Marvel Token: Fighting Souls is a stylized fighting game featuring Marvel superheroes and villains that uses an anime art style. It has generated significant buzz so far, and it will be exciting to see how the final product turns out.
From there, PS5 gamers can look forward to the co-op survival game Grounded 2 on August 11, which marks the next Xbox-published game on the platform. The long-awaited survival-horror sequel Sinking City 2 Releasing on August 18, and Soulslike Mortal Shell 2 Starting on August 20th. Co-op game Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Releasing on August 25, while Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection Vol. 2 Coming August 27th. Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection Vol. 2 Especially noteworthy because it marks the first time Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Released for something other than PS3.
