How the Wonder Pick System Works in Pokemon TCG Pocket

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Wonder Pick is a bonus feature of the game that enables you to collect some extra cards for your collection without having to open booster packs. Like booster packs, which can be opened/filled with the Pack Hourglass, the Wonder Pick has its own currency called Wonder Stamina, used to complete a successful 'pick'. Wonder Stamina is obtained organically every day and can be replenished by spending Poke Gold or another currency called Wonder Hourglasses.

To start Wonder Pick, simply go to the game's main menu page, and hit the giant Wonder Pick button next to the shop button at the bottom of the screen. This Wonder Pick button will also show you how much Wonder Stamina you currently have available to spend.

This will take you to a page where you can choose from various Wonder Picks. Wonder Picks features a variety of cards recently drawn by your Pokemon TCG Pocket friends, as well as other random players in the game.

Depending on which cards are available in each Wonder Pick, a different amount of stamina will be consumed. Usually Wonder Picks featuring very simple cards can be done for 1 Stamina, Picks featuring basic rare traits can cost around 2 Stamina, and Picks featuring valuable full art or ex will cost at least 3 Stamina to consume. Depending on what events are currently running in the game, special themed cards may also have additional free Wonder Picks.

When selecting a Wonder Pick, all five cards will be shuffled randomly and rearranged face down. From here, players tap on a card to select it, which will flip it over and reveal a prize for you to keep.

While it's not a reliable method of targeting a specific card or farm, completing a Wonder Pick every day can be very useful for building your collection, qualifying for purchasing flares to increase duplicates, and filling gaps in your deck. Additionally, if you happen to stumble upon a wonder pick with the card you're looking for, you'll have a one in five chance of securing it, so it's at least worth a try.
