Madinah: Farmers in Madinah have started harvesting dates as the date fruits are optimally ripe in this agricultural season, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The ripening process of date palms involves several stages, starting with pollination and proceeding to thinning, where excess fruit is removed to support optimal growth. Before the dates are harvested, the palm fronds are carefully bagged to protect them from the heat of the sun.
