Blood of the Dawnwalker will be a “less flashy” magic and romance option

Last week featured Blood of the Dunwalker, a game developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio made up of industry veterans who loved The Witcher 3. In fact, the director of The Witcher 3 is one, while many developers at CD Projekt Red are also fully on board with the studio's game, and vice versa.

Since the announcement, Rebel Wolves has opened up more and more about the game, revealing bits and pieces about the studio's history and development, while also giving us a few more details about things in the game itself. In an FAQ posted on the game's official Discord server (thanks MP1st), details about the game's magic, romance options, and story were revealed.

In this FAQ, a variety of questions were answered, but one of the juicer bits of information was about how magic will work in the game. While there's some pretty wild stuff during the game's reveal trailer, it's explained that magic will be a lot “less glamorous” than in other fantasy games, and magic revolves around. Don't expect to be able to fling fireballs or lightning bolts around.

The debut game from the former The Witcher 3 devs may feature a special type of vampire.

It's also been revealed that the game will have a central protagonist, so you won't be able to build your own character, and there will be romanceable characters to chat with to your heart's content. Unfortunately, Rebel Wolf doesn't go into much detail about these characters, but it promises to share more details about them “closer to release.”

With many developers of The Witcher 3 after The Blood of the Dawnwalker, it would be very surprising if there were no romance options. Geralt of Rivia was a famous horn dog before he settled down, having to choose between Tris and Yennefer, so here's hoping the hero of The Blood of the Dunwalker makes an easy decision.
