With Helldivers 2 there's a new enemy for our brave super soldiers to conquer, and it's the cyborgs. After revealing themselves on Super Earth earlier this week, it's all hands on deck to take the fight within the Helldivers 2 community to their home world, Cyberstan, in an attempt to eliminate them as quickly as they appear.
However, those following Helldivers 2 socials will know that some rather interesting footage has recently been coming out of Cyberstan, which paints the cyborgs in a more favorable light. The footage came in the form of several tweets that contained binary code, and were essentially cyborg propaganda to try and convince others that Super Earth were the villains.
Of course, you and I both know that the cyborgs are just producing lies to smear Super Earth, but there seems to be at least one person out there who is taken in by these lies and is trying to fight on Cyberstan's side.
A Helldivers 2 fan is killing teammates to protect Cyberstan
This person goes by the name Super Earth Hater on TikTok, and has recently been uploading videos of himself being a total threat in games by constantly killing his teammates and wasting resources. In their latest video, they include the captions “Defend Cyberstan” and “Waste your reserves” as this person is seen throwing games in the name of cyborgs.
Understandably, most of the people who come across these videos aren't too happy about what they see, responding with memes about treason, calling for Arrowhead to ban the person, or straight-up, good old-fashioned verbal abuse. Their antics are actually getting a little high-profile, with Arrowhead himself being tagged in social media posts, so we may not have long to wait to see this guy go.
In all seriousness though, don't actually do it. It's great to roleplay and engage in the world of Helldivers 2, but you can do so without making the game bad for others around you. It's also worth pointing out that this person's TikTok goes back much further than Cyborg's introduction, and they actually have a series titled “Day XX of Team Killing of I Get Band”, so it's unlikely that they're doing it for the love of the gaming world, and maybe they're just trying to ruffle feathers.
If you decide to ignore all of that and go on a Super Solider killing spree in your own games, you'll likely get a lengthy (if not permanent) ban for team killing, as that's not the intended way to play the game. Now, a PvP mode for Helldivers 2, which will be very difficult, and if we can take anything from this debacle, this PvP might be something Arrowhead considers for the future.
