Earlier this week, it was announced that Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5 next month, ending the game's console exclusivity and opening the game up to more players than ever before. However, when it comes to going multiplatform on Xbox, it is very eager to launch games on Nintendo's systems as well, which really begs the question – why isn't Starfield on Switch 2 yet?
Well, it was reported earlier this year by a reliable insider known as Shinobi602 that there was a strong possibility that Starfield “might not even come out” on the Nintendo Switch 2, claiming that Bethesda “has a problem with it.” With other actually announced Switch 2 ports like Borderlands 4 being scrapped, the fate of Starfield on Switch 2 has been up in the air for quite some time.
Don't worry, it looks like Starfield 2 is still coming to the Switch
With the game now officially confirmed for PS5, the only platform left for Starfield to be ported to is the Nintendo Switch 2, meaning fans are now asking for an update. Thankfully, another fairly reliable insider called Nate the Hate was happy to provide some information, claiming that the game is still in development and not scrapped.
That being said, he doesn't give much assurance either. Nate continues to claim that the process of bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch 2 has not been smooth, and tells fans to just “cross your fingers and hope for the best.” Not the most encouraging thing to hear if you're hoping for a port to drop one day, but I guess all we can really do is wait and hope that Bethesda fixes it.
