Clair Obscur: The new Verso's Drafts Update of Expedition 33 adds an even more brutal version of Simon, the hardest boss battle in the original game.
As anyone who's struggled against titans like The Pentres, Renoir, and Creation is surely unaware of, Claire Obscur: Expedition 33 has some truly challenging boss battles. While all of the above are tied to the story and must be defeated, the hardest fights in the game are all optional, including the infamous Cruel Simon.
In the base game, Simon was seen as the ultimate challenge to Claire Obscur, with many ordinary players beating him by the skin of their teeth. As tough as Simon is, though, there are a lot of players who started mastering the battle and making him look like a fool, which Sandfall apparently took a bit personally as they made him even tougher in the new update.
Simon, The Divergent star, is Claire Obscure's new tough superboss
And yet, some players have already beaten him without taking any damage
A new update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 added a bunch of content via Verso's Drafts, including a new Endless Tower mode with boss battles to overcome. As tough as Chromatic Lampmaster, Clea Unleashed, and Duollistes are, however, the real test comes with Simon, Divergent Star.
Claire Obscure's Jennifer English is right, Queer Joy is worth pursuing no matter the price
After winning Best Performance at this year's Golden Joysticks, Jennifer English touched on the importance of eccentric joy in her life.
Simon was already infamous for being the toughest boss in Claire Obscure and one that requires you to master the game to defeat, but the Divergent Star version is somehow even more brutal. His attacks can wipe out your full-level team in one hit, he's weak to literally nothing, and he's even harder to pet than the base version.
All over social media, Clair Obscur players are sharing how incredibly difficult the fight is, and how Sandfall clearly saw what we all did with the original Simon and decided to make him near-invincible. That being said, the Claire community is a very skilled bunch, and there are already videos of her beating on an expert without taking any damage.
As someone who didn't play the original Simon, I don't think I'd go near the Divergent Star version of him, because he looks like a really funny fight. Still, it's great to see Sandfall having fun with its bosses and pushing them to extremes knowing there are players willing to take on the challenge.
