Asmongold split with the talent agency, possibly because of the school bomb comment

Controversial kick streamer Esmongold has parted ways with the talent agency he co-founded, Mythic Talent, which now aims to be “committed to fostering an environment based on respect and responsibility”.

There are a lot of controversial streamers out there, especially when it comes to Kik, but one of the first that comes to mind in the gaming space is Jack Hoyt, better known as Asmongold. Previously known for playing World of Warcraft, Asmongold has steadily moved towards politics and gaming drama over the past few years.

At the time, Esmongold was embroiled in a number of controversies, from comparing Andrew Tate to Martin Luther King, Jr. to being banned from Twitch for saying that Palestinian people were “horrible people” from a “despicable culture”, for which he later apologized. It looks like the controversy may be too much for Mythic Talent, though.

Asmongold has “Mutually parted ways” with the talent agency he co-founded

“Myth represents creators from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives”

As reported by Kotaku, Mythic Talent, the streamer talent agency that Hoyt co-founded with TipsOut in 2023, shared a statement on Twitter yesterday that confirmed it had “mutually” parted ways with Asmongold. The statement claims that Mythic “represents creators from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives” and wants an environment “based on respect and responsibility”.

What does the Asmongold apology mean for gaming?

Asmongold posted an authentic-feeling, introspective YouTube apology with a more dismissive tone on Reddit. But which was real?

It's not entirely clear what caused the sudden split between Asmongold and Mythic (who didn't seem bothered by the streamer's previous feud), but it's speculated that Hoyt's recent comments about the US airstrikes in Iran may have contributed to it. At the time of writing, Asmongold has not commented on the split with Mythic.
