in fact, Code Geass has a new project lined up in celebration of the franchise's 20th anniversary. The name of this project is a brand new anime Code Geass: Esper the Star Chaser. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Attack on Titan have always been comparedAnd if this new Code Geass anime is as good as the original, it can definitely be the perfect replacement for the AOT anime.
A new anime of Code Geass is coming to replace Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is a popular anime series that fans saw officially end in 2023. Since that conclusion, fans have only received the recap movies as new official content, and a few other small glimpses here and there.
But now, Code Geass, a legendary anime franchise, is making a grand return, and if it's any good, it could very well go on to replace Attack on Titan.
This new anime series is called Code Geass Hoshi Oi no AsparWhich can be translated to Code Geass: Aspar the Star Chaser. This new project was recently announced, and it will be made in celebration of the franchise's 20th anniversary which is coming up.
There is very little that fans know about this new Code Geass anime project, but the only hope and expectation they have is that it will be as good as the first Code Geass anime, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
The original Code Geass can be placed on the same level as Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is a very unique anime compared to everything else being released around its time. It's a shonen, but it's much darker than the average series. What really makes Attack on Titan stand out, aside from its terrifying nature, is definitely its characters, especially Eren Yeager, its main character.
Something similar can be said about Code Geass. Code Geass is a very mature anime, and what really sets it apart from the rest is its awesome main character, Lelouch..
Many consider Lelouch to be one of, if not the best anime main characters in existence. Fans will especially compare Lelouch and Eren. They are somewhat similar characters, especially in Eren's later arcs after the timeskip.
Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Esper has the potential to stand alongside the OG series
Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspar is highly anticipated by Code Geass Fans, but of course, there are also some concerns. Everything that came after the original Code Geass anime couldn't compare to Lelouch's main story.
Code Geass: Rose of the RecaptureFor example, there was a big flopAnd generally, the fan consensus is that it was an average anime, at best. Bokuko no Akito was somewhat better, but still not as good as the original.
If Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspar is anything like Rozé, it certainly won't be an acceptable replacement for Attack on Titan. Hopefully, the writers can create a story of the same grandeur as the original Lelouch of Rebellion.
Fans certainly hope that the new anime diverges from Lelouch's story, however, and crafts something new that's just as exciting.
